Way to kill supply and demand on Eels..thanksFollow

Completed Nat Pagle quest and made a B-line for Tanaris. Mainly looking for squid and misc fish to start lvling up cooking also. Get excited because in the middle of the day I find several Stonescale Eel Swarms. JACKPOT!! So start fishing - by the time I finished was up 16 eels. Now these eels have been going for easy 1 eel - 1g.
Head back to Org to AH them and - NO WHY?? 2 boneheads put about 200 eels in the AH. Now our AH has never had large amounts of eels at any given time, maybe 5-10 max on any given week. These 2 fools put stacks of 20 - 4/5g.
Way to kill supply and demand. Just flood the market and put robots on the assy line.
Way to go Bush!!

Those eels go for 1 eel - 1 g ON YOUR SERVER.

Just save them for later eh?

You have a few choices

1) Put yours up and take the lower price
2) Wait for the stock to dry up then put yours up for the higher price
3) Buy up the cheap stack and resell them at the higher price.

Secret option #4, have a Alc buddy make them into Stonescale Oil and sell them that way.

see how the other guys had great options for you to deal with your 16 eels instead of turning it into a political rant?

if you know they are 1g each on average, buy up the current supply. AH traders make great money. as a daytrader once said, Epic drops are 100% on the AH.

If they are running fishing bots (as I suspect), then they will outfish you and put up another 200 eels the next day. You'll end up losing all the gold spent on buying the eels. Report them for botting to a GM. If they aren't, Blizz will ignore your report. If they are, getting them banned will solve the problem.

So 2 people put up 200 each? or 200 total?

If each, I would agree they probably were botting. But if that was total then that is only 5 stacks each and that doesn't say botting to me, unless of course they were alts.

Well 200 was a rough number. BUT YES, it was the same 2 people that put the eels in the AH. The whole page filled up with stacks of 20. If remember correctly there are 10 slots per page. Didn't even look to see if there was a NEXT button.

Dont want to be an a** but guess will look into the GM thing. Hate to ask: Can someone point me in the right direction to check into this?

I even double checked yesterday evening and the page was still full. So not sure if any sold or if they reloaded the AH again.
I did strike me as odd as that many eels popped up at one time. In the past month or so, like I noted, there has never been more than 10 eels at any given time.

Its not worth it. Market fluctuations happen all the time and you have to deal with them. Posting on multi-server forums never get you anywhere. I'll use dawnstones on my server for an example. They were worth about 30g on average until JC after JC after JC started putting 6+ on the market each, driving the market price down to about 15g each, none of which sold. What did I do with my supply? I hung onto them for about 2 weeks, the supply dried up some and the price started going back up. Once it reached a level I was OK with, I put 1-2 on the AH at a time and made my money.

Reporting these people to a GM will get you nowhere. You have absolutely no proof that the person used a bot, and the GM will tell you as much. You will be doing nothing but wasting his time that he could be using on helping people with actual (not QQ) problems.

If you can't handle simple market situations then maybe you shouldn't try to sell stuff on the AH. Give your items to a friend and have him manage the AH for you.

Grow up, and stop QQing.

I taught a guild mate how to fish and what did he do? Fished up stacks and stacks of eels and absolutely flooded the market. My market. (heh)

Just sell yours after those are all gone (and then some). Patience, my friend.

Of course, if you were a consumer of eels you'd be delighted to see hundreds for sale.

WOW!! NIce to see that everyone except Dilbrt tried to make a "good" point or at least say hey you might want to check this out. Way to go Dilbrt - Did you read the original post? It was meant more as just a whatever with a joke at the end.
Some of the others(not from "LOST") noted that I might want to report this to a GM.
Guess you are gonna tell me next to go to PvE if I don't like it too?? Can you sell my stuff on the AH for me?

Bitter party of one!!

One person putting up 200 eels could be hoarding. One person putting up 200 eels per day is much more suspicious. I can usually get a stack and a half in an hour. I suppose it could be done by one person who did nothing but fish, but my thought is that the quantity on a daily basis points strongly towards botting. Let Blizz do its job and investigate.

Being paranoid does not mean that they aren't out to get you.

I'm just curious, but does anyone use these much anymore? I recall them being the "hot" item back when they were needed to make the stonescale oil which was needed for the tier quests. My alchemist bought his epic mount on those, I think, selling stacks of 10 for about 20 gold each. But noone does the tier quest anymore, and there are much better elixirs and flasks out there now.

I've tried to sell a few stacks that were hiding in my bank recently and they won't sell for squat anymore.

Just wondering. :/
