I have tried multiple spots trying to level skinning to 300 and need some tips as where to go for mass mobs around same area.
I found a real good spot in Un'goro Crater, the gorilla cave, but that has slowed down with skill-ups. I flew over to Silithus but the scorpions there are so spread out its hard to level quickly. Is Wintersprings another options? I am looking for a few spots with level 53-54+ mobs in abundance. Any help would be appreciated.

try in hinterlands along the coast near horde camp. Lots of lvl 49-50 snapjaws plus a 48 elite and a 51 rare. you can rack up the stacks of thick and rugged leather quick along with exp depending on your lvl. Ive been grinding/farming here with my 46 hunter.
Most of my 275-300+ skinning was done in Sunken Temple. Get some guildmates or friends that are fellow skinners and just go run ST. And it's not like you have to "run" ST. You just go to one of the "gatekeeper" mob balconies, kill it and jump over the side. It's a dragonkin fest my friend. Rugged leather and green scales fall like rain. Lots of money and you can level skinning in there for quite a while. I still get skill points and I'm 356 atm.
You know the right level of mobs to take, so just go to those zones.
Specifically, I know there are quests in Feralas, Winterspring, and Blasted Lands which lets you level up on skinnable animals. Burning Steppes has 1 quest but skinnable mobs are all kind of in one good area, so just make your rounds if necessary. EPL has a good quest, and as you move around to various parts of the zone, you’ll find plenty in a certain area.
When I play a skinning character, I *always* do the EPL quest and Blasted Land quests. In fact, because the mob drops in Blasted Lands are not bop, I sometimes use my skinning character again to farm the quest drops for my other characters when they get to that level.

i got 300 hundred with the combo of duskwood stranglethorn and the hinterlands

I leveled to 290 in Tanaris on the coast with turtles. Feralas is also very good.
