Master of Elixirs - getting there?Follow

It seems hard enough for a resto Druid healer to get into a Pug for Dark Morass. Then you have the problem of constant healing without letup - which seems to make it hard to get to the point where you can actually loot some of the essences.

Anybody have some thoughts on how to approach the Master of Elixirs quest - or any suggestion that one of the other specialization quests might be more feasable for a straight healer?

Go Potions.

Elixirs are getting nerfed in the next content patch, and every transmute master I know wishes they'd picked one of the other two.

Yes, I consider limiting the # of elixirs I can have on my character at one time to be a nerf.

I consider reducing the effects of flasks a nerf.

I chose master of transmutation and have not regretted it. It has procced for me 75% of the time (12 transmutes, 9 extra procs). My last primal might transmute resulted in x5. Since there's a cooldown and the mats are a pain in the *** to get, I think the most bang for the buck is in the transmutes.

new alchemist here, can someone explain the differences/advantages/purposes of the specializations? As far as I can tell there are three: Potion Master, Elixir master and Transmute Master right? For instance, I understand what potions and elixirs do, what does a Master Transmuter do and is it profitable?

Taking a mastery means you have a chance to proc extras of that type when making them. More info is posted in the Trade Skills FAQ that may help you decide which to pick.
