i've been told you have to go down in BRD to smelt dark iron.i took my 160 peaces of ore down ther to try and couldn't get it done.am i missing some thing.i've been going through the quest list on allak. and can't find any thing related.if you know can you give me detales please...thank you in advance..
I updated the Trade Skills FAQ with information on how to smelt dark iron ore.
its a little mini quest you have to go to the room of i think "7 dwarfs" give "groom'rel" 2 star rubies, 10 truesilver bars, and 20 gold bars then you learn it. *note do it before you start the quest there. and also it takes about 8 ore to make a bar. you can only smelt it by the entrance of molten core. iddie
Definitely read the FAQ - it's explained very well there.
Just a couple things to remember - you click on Gloom'rel, he asks you whether you're willing to sacrifice to learn to smelt dark iron, and a large ghostly chalice appears next to him. You click on the _chalice_ next and it lets you deposit the 2 star rubies, 20 gold bars, and 10 truesilver bars. Then I believe you click on Gloom'rel again to actually learn to smelt.
