Who upset the alchemy gods?? no fish sellingFollow

#1 Apr 09 2007 at 9:39 AM Rating: Decent
Well is it just my server or have I upset the gods? I went from selling firefins like hot cakes. I have been doing stack 5 -1g for about a month or so. Now, for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to sell a single firefin. I even checked before putting them in the AH - there were not any firefins on the market. Talk about a volatile market.
Now I have 25 firefins in my bank and don't know what to do? Do you need any?

Has anyone else had any problems of late?

The only potions that firefins can be used in are pretty useless except for levelling. It could be that there were a bunch of people who were powering levels in alchemy who were buying them but have moved on to higher level pots.

Maybe they got tired of being gouged for a reagent that goes into lowb recipes and decided to fish them themselves or that there were better ways to lvl alchemy than by lining your pockets.

Same thing happened on my server a month ago. Not only firefins, I couldnt sell eels either even at ridicolously low price. My bank alt overflowed with fish.

Then all of a sudden the fish is not only selling again but at quite higher price than before. All my stacks were gone in few days and I made some nice cash.

+40 fire damage is "pretty useless?" Maybe when MC and BWL were all the rage...

I need some Fire Oil. How do you extract the oil from the fish, and how high does your fishing level have to be in order to catch them? BTW I am on Blackwing Lair.

Murlocs in Menethryl(sp?) Harbour drop Fish Oil.

Edit: Oh, FIRE Oil :P

[wowitem=6371]Fire Oil[/wowitem] is made by Alchemists from [wowitem=6359]Firefin Snappers[/wowitem]. You can probably fish up Firefins with a skill of 100 if you head out to areas like Darkshore/Menethil Harbor (Alliance) or Barrens (Horde).

Or depending on how brave you are....lol....Firefins spawn like crazy in Stonetalon Mts...where the goblins are. There is a lake with a stream that runs through the area. When I run up there usually 6-10 firefin pools. Plus, there is a lot of floating debris with other goodies in it.

Okay. With the proposed alchemy nerf, +40 fire damage has become pretty useless. Too bad. I enjoyed stacking elixir upon elixir upon elixir, adding in food buffs and drink buffs.
