Hi guys, I've taken up mining on my main ( 60 hunter ) to get some ores for my alt so I can boost up his blacksmithing skill.
I'm currently mining a lot of iron and I will soon be moving onto mithril.
I've tried to look up some good areas/zones with a good amount of mithril, but I have had no luck.

SO.. I thought I'd ask the forums, hopefully someone knows a good zone for it and will share.

Thanks in advance.

The best mid-lvl place I have ever seen such an abundance of ore in is Desolace. I could run around it once and have at least a half a stack to a stack of Mithril, Iron, and Copper. Doesn't sound like much but three hours is like 30 run-arounds for me on my mount, and even those Coppers sell for a pretty penny. So what you/your alt doesn't use, becomes profit. Might be a better place for the nodes, but there's basically no competition ever in Desolace, and little to no opposite faction skirmishes. Hence the name, Desolace. :P

Oh, also, get Cartographer w/ the Mining/Treasure/Herbalism pack on um...can't remember the site. >< But it saves where the nodes are, and it's the best addon for maps/loot/trackers I've seen. Helps basically guide you as you run along Desolace, cause there's a few places where there's not so much on the edge, but a little more in the demon filled place in Desolace, so you know where to go as you go around. Or any other zone. :P

I think Blizz nerfed the mithril spawns in desolace. Since you're level 60, you should have no problem getting past most mobs. Just type "Mithril deposit" on the search engine and they should give you a list of areas. Just click on the maps and see which ones have the most spawn areas.

I believe the best place for mithril/truesilver/gold is in the valley on the far right of badlands (sorry can't remember the exact name). I ran through there on my mount to get all the mithril and truesilver i needed for my armorsmithing which is a ton btw. So i'd look there.

Yep, the Lethlor Ravine in the Badlands is a great place for mithril. It's also a great place for 45 elite dragons, so if that sounds too much then avoid (although at 60 they shouldn't be a problem).

The best place I've found for mining is actually the Charred Vale in Stonetalon. For a mid to high 20s zone, the mining there is crazy good. I've found copper, tin, iron, gold, mithril, and even truesilver there. A lap of the cliffs there should net you around 3 mithril deposits and some iron, tin or rare metal. Wait 10 minutes or so, and then repeat. And repeat. And..... you get the idea. My warrior had 200 mining before he hit 30.

I always liked the Badlands best for Mithril. Do the search on the left and check the map (or use mapwow.com) to find where the mithril spawns - basically it is in the valley areas around the edge of the badlands. Then do the circuits. I used to pick up one or two stacks per circuit, more if I felt like going into the ogre cave in the southwest corner. At level 60, nothing there will bother you - you can even mine that one spawn right in the middle of the elite dragons in Lethlor Ravine.

The Alterac Mountains are another nice place to mine mithril - all the mithril is concentrated inside the bowl with the yeti and ogres. None of them are high enough level to bother a 60 much, although they are high enough to attack you instead of ignoring you so much.
