Hey guys I have a question about alchemy. Is the cooldown for the transmutations less time if you become a transmutation alchemist? I mean other than getting the secret plans you would think it would wouldn't you.

What secret plans?

Information about the masteries can be found in the Trade Skills FAQ.

No. Transmuation specialty makes it so when you transmute something theres a chance of making 2 of that item. In many cases this can be amazing, since some things sell for several 100 gold.

How do you become a "transmutation alchemist" and what benefits does it have? I have the recipe's for transmuting iron to gold, mithril to truesilver and a few others that i don't use much, but i've never heard of any kind of alchemy specialisation?

Ok
All Alchemy specilizations make it so when you make an alchemy item you have a chance of making an extra one
-Transmutation is for people who transmutate alot and want to make a lot of money slowly. I dont think its that good because theres easier ways to make money. To do the quest also costs 2x more than the others.
-Elixir specilization is for health and mana pots. If you make a lot of these for pvp this is the spec. for you
-Potion specilization is for long lasting potions like lesser armor, etc.

You mixed up Elixirs and Potions.

All this stuff is in the Trade Skills FAQ.
