Newbie engineering question...Follow

#1 Mar 21 2007 at 8:48 PM Rating: Decent
Hey, everyone. I was hoping someone could help me with an engineering question I have. My engineering level is 75, and I'd like to move it up to the next level, which I think is the Expert level. (Or the trainer is the Expert trainer, or something like that.) Whenever I click on him, it says there's something he'd like me to do for him, but nothing more than that. I can select "Train Me" but it takes me to a blank page. I know there's a quest that Engineers have to do, but the attain level for that is 30, and my character is level 12... I really don't want to wait that long! Is there something I'm missing? Thanks, everyone!

You need to go to the Journeyman Trainer, not the Expert trainer at this point. Here is a list of all the trainers for Horde and Alliance as you didn't say which you were.

Ah, OK. Thanks very much for the clarification, but I have one more question. On that list, it says Sprite Jumpsprocket is the Apprentice trainer in Stormwind, and Lilliam Sparkspindle is the Journeyman trainer. In the game, the title under Sprite's name is Journeyman Engineer, and the title under Lilliam's name is Expert Engineer. Sprite tells me she can no longer train me, and that I need to speak to Lilliam to get training, but Lilliam is the one that wants me to do something for him. Is this supposed to be this way? Because I've been learning my 1-75 skills from Sprite...

Think of this way: You have to learn skills from someone at a higher skill than you. So as an apprentice engineer, you need to learn from the Journeyman engineer. And as a Journeyman engineer, you'll need to see the Expert.
