is it worth selling metal ore instead of bars on the AH since prospecting came about? i've noticed that at times the ore is priced higher than bars on the AH but there are always fewer auctions for ore than there are for bars. from you personal experience, do auctions for ore sell as well as auctions for bars if you price the accordingly? i'm after a quick turnover.
That is what I do. Sell the ore! At least on my server it goes for more than the bars, since Jewelcrafting came about. I no longer ride by a copper node anymore like I used to.

Buying ore also allows people to smelt it themselves and up their mining. I only smelt ore into bars if there's a high chance it's going to give me a skill up so I can mine higher level nodes.
Yup. Smelt for skillups, otherwise, sell the ores.
Two exceptions to this rule, and that's bronze and steel. If you can smelt them for more profit, it might be commendable to do so.
