Profitable fishing in outlands?Follow

I was searching through the forum and didn't really find much in terms of fishing in the new zones. My fishing is about 295 right now and I've gotten my character up to almost 63. I recently started fishing in the new zones and discovered a few places to fish. I have run into some positives and negatives.

First, I've leveled alchemy and cooking. I have yet to find any fish that I can use for my alchemy (similar to stonescale eels, firefin, etc). I have been able to find fish that helped level my cooking more, which is quite nice. Also, when it comes to chests, I haven't found much in the way of actual items other than Fel Iron Bolts and the like.

My question is, are there zones that have fish that are going to be beneficial for my alchemy? Also, are there fishing areas with chests with things like netherweave cloths, bolts, and green items as well?

Thank you for the help, I know my post was long haha

I haven't found a fish yet that is used in any trade skill but Cooking.

I've seen floating wreckages in Zangarmarsh that yield ore, engineering parts, leather, scrolls, etc. So those are nice one-offs you can use/sell.

I have heard that Furious Crawdads can be good money when cooked (+30 stamina).

the floating wreckages in zangarmarsh is what i was referencing. I guess i just didn't fish up enough to really get a grasp on what exactly was all in them other than the engineering things.

and you're right, those crawdads sound pretty good. I know I've fished up some of the sporefish and cooked those into blackened sporefish and they were pretty nice. The feltail delight is pretty good as well.

Ya, the crawdads and the golden fish sticks are probably gonna be worth more when more guilds get to raiding

On a side note, you can fish Goldenscale Vendorfish in Zangramarsh which can sell for 6g and steam pump debris that sells for 50s each.

the only thing ive found any good is golden darter. i think thats the fish to make fish sticks with. i send them to my preist. but i would think they would turn a good profit as alot of people dont have the patience to fish. iddie

I haven't actually seen any floating wreckage in Zangermarsh - what I have seen is Steam Plant Debris spawns, from which you fish up mostly steam pump debris (which sells quite nicely to the vendors, btw), as well as some boxes containing mostly engineering bits.

I think we're using "floating wreckage" as a generalized term for those kinds of pools.

yeah, the floating wreckage is in the same category. the steam parts are pretty decent to vendors (50s a piece), but i guess there isn't anything like the mythril boxes that contained everything from cloth to greens.

I am quite partial to the Feltail Delight (20 Samina and Spirit), and the Golden Fish Sticks (Spirit healing Healing 44).

The little waterfall lakes downstream from Skettis can be fished without bother from the 70 mobs.

But seems very slow to raise fishing level in Outlands - don't know the secret to getting to 375 without devoting enormous amounts of time.

If u fish the crawdads which I've only found in pools. Is the only way to raise your cooking to 375, or your stuck at around 360's somewhere. Don't remember offhand. U need a flying mount to get to the pools unless summoned I guess but why bother. The pools are more plentiful in skettis land above E'nora lake or however its pronounced... in Terrokar forest. However there are alot of 70 mobs to take down. I mainly fish in the lake below. But it has to say E'nora (again spelling) lake in order to find the pools. They don't spawn very fast and u usually only get one to two crawdads per pool. Always use a fishing bobber even at 375 fishing because u will lose alot of time otherwise. Mostly lost fish. As for the alchemy ... I have seen nothing in outlands that is fished and or used in it.
