Quick way to get my LW skill upFollow

#1 Mar 11 2007 at 7:53 AM Rating: Decent
So right now I am sitting with a lvl 12 NE Rogue with skinning and leather working as his professions. Skills 65 and 45 respectively and me being the perfectionist I am (joke, kind of anyway) feel that my LW skill isnt as high as it should be so I am looking for a good way to get my skill up but without losing as little money as possible (I am sitting on 2g right now).

Im thinking about buying 2 stacks of Light Leather for cheap in AH at 25s and just making Light Armor Kits because of the same sell price as regular light leather. (Selling made stuff that I can't use is pointless since I only get 30b out of it which cost maybe 1s 20b in mats.) I'd figure I would do that till I got to maybe about 45 or so but I don't think that is the greatest idea I have out there.

Don't buy leather. Just be patient and skin the leather you need to skill up. Your skinning will easily outpace your leatherworking skill no matter what, anyway, unless you plan on dumping money into the AH to buy leather. It's a simple matter of the ratio of kills to skin compared to how many leather it takes to make something. All gathering vs. producing professions are the same in that manner. At your level, it's also better to go grind for leather because you're getting XP at the same time. Better to save that money for paying for your training than buy mats, in my opinion.

Good advice ... also to note ; try to make items that will surely gain you skill points while using the least of yor materials ,,, armor kits are good for this and also sell well in auction house . I would suggest selling them in stacks of 4 as you can only add armor kits to 4 things on ones charachter . Happy hunting . Do not make them if the kit is written in green in your leather working menue . You wont get skill points . Go to a trainer .

Same advice as everyone else... make sure the items you're making are orange and yellow for maximum skillups, and try to use recipes that need the least amount of materials.

As a side note, it isn't really a bad idea to buy skins if your leatherworking is lagging behind your level. I found this was the case with my druid at lvl 15, so I used up a few gold to level up my LW to a point where I could make armor above my level again.

If you can EVER make items that will net you profit after resale, you should make. Skilling up and profitting don't happen often, but when they do it'll sure make you smile.

Lastly, any greens you can make will sell for much more than vendor at the AH. They can both be used by others your level, and by disenchanters, so your chance to sell is pretty high. Just be sure not to overprice them so you only have to list them once.
