How do u get so much $$$?Follow

#52 Mar 20 2007 at 2:35 AM Rating: Decent
I send all my alts 2g the moment they leave teh lvl 1-6 area and reach their second town (Goldshire, Azure Watch, etc.). On my server 10 slot bags sell for 50s each. The 2g is just enough to get the toon four 10 slot bags.

Learn your servers economy is the best way to make money.

When I used to play horde (very short while) my warlock was mining, fishing, and enchanting and made well over 50g by lvl 10 and had 1k gold at level 40. My BElf paladin was jewelcrafting, mining, and fishing. The leveling was slower than I may have liked but the constant influx of gold was great.

My first mage on another server was tailoring, fishing, enchanting. Even after using linen to level both first aid and tailoring I would usually have enough to put a few stacks up on the AH and sell them at 50s buyouts, wool for 1g. I constantly found low level blue items for 5g on the AH and would repost them at 20+ gold and they would always sell within a half hour. Had 3k on that char by level 40.

My main (linked in sig) is currently sitting on 800g. Working on powerleveling my enchanting right now so I'm spending a lot on mats and this character was naked at 60 for the longest time...

It's far to easy to make money in this game..

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure the topic asks for answers to the question "How do u get so much $$$", not "How to lose the most $$$".

You leveled your Leatherworking skill by 29 points, and it cost you 20-25 gold? What did you do, buyout all the light leather and craft it into heavy leather before making anything, or did you click "create all" and walk away forgetting to train up to the 300 level?

That's insane. I don't think I could bring myself to lose that much leveling a skill at that level if I tried.

I have followed this thread with some interest as it concerns a matter close to my heart......making gold lol. As Mike has said previously and reiterated by several other posters, making money is very easy in WoW, and more than that, how to do it is no secret. Just read some of the posts on this site and people can make as much as they like, or at least as much as they want to work for.

I too take exception to be labelled as a cheat, or being labelled as a gold buyer when people hear how much gold I have made in the five months I have been trading and playing on WoW. My level 12 alt presently has 8200g sitting in his young persons savings account, and has in the region of 2000g worth of mats and blue and purple items for sale at the AH. I have also helped numerous guildies buy their mounts and supplied my main with numerous blue items to increase his questing ability.

Making money is no more difficult than grinding your way up the levels, what it does require, like anything else worth getting in life, is effort. I have spent hours in the AH buying and trading and learning the markets, it is another facet of the game that can if you let it dominate your play time. However, a healthy balance can reap rich rewards. So go on read up on the techniques, practice with some seed money and welcome to the WoW affluent.

I just wanted to say that I have throughly enjoyed this thread.. I have been playing just over 4 weeks mainly as a way to keep in touch w/ my friebds back in NYC while i am living in Vietnam, however my addiction to the game has taken on a life of its own. I am reading the thread while i am waiting an ungodly ammt of time for The Burning Crusade to download (still 5 hrs left)and have enjoyed every min of it. Being a former trader on wall st, i was immediately inclined to play the ah as the market and have found it to be most rewarding. I am a lvl 32 Hunter and have managed to scrape together a bank of about 65g after buying a fair ammt of blue armor and paying for training, artisianship and the like. I was lucky to have some high lvl friends who took me on an expidition to Desolace when i was just lvl 22 where i picked up a blue lvl 32 bow which i sold for 10g (i was realy n00bish coulda got 25g but hey) and that got me my capital to start investing. Skinning also brings in a fair ammt of money where as like the OP i am considering dropping my leatherworking. So yeah i just wanted to thank you all for the great ideas as well as helping me kill time whilst i cannot play WOW... Enjoy...

The problem with this post is that you stop reading it after 5 or 6 words. Also the poster probably does know how to write correctly. These mistakes require an effort to make.

They're prolly alts. They have a lvl 70 main who's filtering money into them so when they grow up, they can be twinks. Don't get discouraged. And you get less money sitting on forums asking how to make money. Pick up two gathering professions, grab fishing, and start gathering. Tons of money to be made. Also, finding a good spot w/ yellow Humanoids is good for grinding, minor-coin, and cloth which sells iffy, depending on lvl. Also, I've found better loot on Humanoids, Uncommon+~wise.

If you rely on green, blue, and even purple drops as a money maker, you don't know how to make gold in WoW. Sure, they are nice to have, but only as supplementary income. They should not be your main source of gold.

I have a lvl 37 hunter with 400g.

I have skinning and mining skill send everything I cant use and any mining and skinning items to my mule and sell on Auction House. It is also important to get auctioneer add on to get prices that will sell quickly. With new jewelcrafting metals are in great demand and sell very well. With auctioneer add on you can also search auction house for items that are being sold to low, buy them and resell for a profit. Best times to sell is at weekends when most players are on. I would at times have over 60 items for sale in AH. good luck.

im lv66 and i just reached 1000+ gold recently. but heres what i say. dont worry TOO much about gold when ur lower level, because the +stats arent going to give u a WHOLE bunch of difference when leveling. treat yourself to something nice every once in awhile, but not necessarily somethihng that you will stop using after a few levels. buy bags, things like that, and a new ring/neckpiece, etc here n there. do instances every once in awhile to get some blues, and then just quest. questing is the best way to level, but dont worry about the ones that lead you across azeroth all too much. but yeah, pick up skin/herb or skin/mining, and just level it and pick/mine/skin everything you can. it might not seem like an easy way to make money, but before you know it, you'll have stacks that you can sell and start making some decent change :)

absolutely correct. Leatherworking, like all crafting skills, is a money sink. It takes a sellable commodity (skins) and wastes them on levelling your leatherworking skill.

Utter nonsense. My druid now level 23 has 65g at level 20 i had 50g. I have leatherworking and skinning. My tauren can go through Wailing Caverns. And i cn pick up the deviate scales i need to make a Deviate scale belt. This sells for around 15-20g each time. You just gotta know how to play and also how to broke the brokers.

Every profession can make money as long as you know how to sell the items you create/mine etc etc....

Every profession has niche markets. Those niche items remain viable only as long as a limited number of people are crafting to those markets. If everyone did what you claim, then there wouldn't be any money there. You can always make money through gathering. You can make money if you find an unfilled niche, but finding that niche is seldom an easy task.

In that entire post out of ~25-26 words, more than half where spelt incorrectly. normally i dont mind when people abbriviate or shorten words but that is a bit ridiculous. /sigh

anyway back to the point of your post. leatherworking and skinning are not major cash jobs early on, unless you sell everything that you make and make alot of it. if you want a pure money profession, mining sells really well throughout, but any job that uses it will cost alot,

if you give up leatherworking for mining, you will make alot more money, but also your character wont be getting the benifit of crafting anything good later on.

Abbreviate
A lot - not one word

...and sentences start with a capital letter, and end with a full stop not a comma.

/sigh ;P

I have a lvl 20 pally with over 1k gold, i got it all by buying crap from the ah and disenchanting it, then selling the enchanting mats, but in that time i have also lvl'd a mage from 1 to 43, the fact that my pally is lvl 20 is cos i never leave the city with him, the lvl of a char dosent reflect how much time you haave had the char for, (the pally is only lvl 20 but he is about 6 months old) i also have a 60 warrior, a 61 rogue and loads of lvl 20 - 40 chars

Every profession can make money as long as you are lucky enough to find a buyer for your items etc.
