If you are trying to build mining skill, you know what a pain it is to run around looking for nodes. In those lonely moments when no one is around but you, try waiting a minute or two after the first whack on a node. Apparently there is some timer that will reset and the second whack will give you another skill point.

yeah it is pretty nice. behind the steps at the dark portal there are generally a lot of fel iron nodes back there, you can go along in one sweep taking one wack and go back along the other again and again.

well if they give my shaman a little grace for once i may have to go level him again. (im not complaining. i am perfectly fine with the other chars i have decided to roll instead)

works for herbalism too.
you can sometimes get a nice circuit of 3-4 nodes to run around getting lots of skillups.

how do u skil up herbalism this way?... u gather but u dont loot after the castbar is full?...

Any idea on the timescale?
I left it for 30+ seconds and no skill ups, not sure I can cope with waiting 2 minutes.

I don't see how this can apply to herbalism since the "node" can only be used once. As for mining, I tried it. I waited at least a couple minutes and didn't get a second skillup. So it must be a while.
Not worth the risk to have someone come ninja your mithril node, in my opinion.
