Most profitable enchanting method?Follow

#1 Mar 07 2007 at 5:15 PM Rating: Decent
Now, I rolled an alt pally and got it to lvl 23 so far with a full possible enchanting cap so far. (235 total). I know that I must wait until lvl 40 to get cap of 300 in uldaman, but i was wondering what the most profitable thing is for my level. Do I sell my actual enchants? I have all possible (including shiled block +10) enchants for my skill and am constantly selling chants.

I do also sell mats on the AH using my auctioneer and enchantrix mods as help. (buying cheap greens and bidding on cheap blues really brings in the mats)

So could anyone tell me if i should sell ALL the mats, or should i keep some so i can sell my enchants?

To my knowledge, the 300 cap is attainable at Lv.35, but for the main question, I would sell the mats you do not use to skill up, until you reach 300 or so, and get enchants people want. I have yet to sell a single enchant, and my skill is 350. I ate a lot of loss, but I made more than I spent by selling extra enchanting mats. What you should do is keep up the buying and selling, but set aside little by little enough to power all the way up to 300 the second you qualify. If you are getting run through ulduman as low as possible, you would do well to only have to visit there once.

Sell mats. Sell all your mats. DE cheap greens and blues (and an occasional purple) from the AH. You'd be surprised at what some people put their epics up for... If you sell enchantments, have the person supply the mats. If they buy yours at the AH, you've made a double profit.

Yeah, the most profitable thing about enchanting is to never enchant.

You mean if they buy my mats and enchants? Sort of confused...sorry.

I took your advice and went to the AH and bought lots of cheap greens and blues that gave me mats i would use. I like the advice of saving mats to power to 300 ASAP. I put all mats, except for some that people like to buy(such as the +7 to bracer enchants, and +5 dmg to a 2H), in my bank.

You tell them to buy the materials at the AH and you ask a small fee for enchanting something for them.

Since they pay you for the materials (which you put on the AH and they buy off the AH , from you if you're lucky) and for the enchanting itself , you made extra profit.

Then again , if you supply the materials, you can just charge a higher fee so it's basicly the same.

Oh, another thing, try not to buy enchanting recipes that you do not intend to use on yourself. The small change I would get from fiery enchants pales in comparison to the investment I would have to make to get the pattern.

If you supply the materials and charge accordingly, you'll end up with whines about how expensive your enchantments are. If you tell them that they have to buy mats, there won't be any complaints (except about your fee).

Let me start off by saying thank you to all who have responded.

Using various advice from this thread (not ust from one person) I have actually made 50g enchanting/disenchanting. I also have quite a few mats saved up in bank for when i ding 35 and get a run to Ulda.

Are there any specific enchants that people prefer? Like would people buy +5 agi to gloves more than +5 str? I am trying to save some of my mats needed for different chants that actually do sell rather well.

One more thing....

Is it really worth it to take enchanting to 375? I am already at 235 so i didn't want to drop it so far in.

the +5 agi to gloves was one of the only enchants i managed to be able to sell, id be able to easily sell it for around 5g, the lesser nether essences costing me 1-2g, depending. Seems as if most rogues dont realize it exists, and were very happy to get it.

thank you.

in the time gap between my post and your response, i found out the same thing as i spammed trade channel on gorgonnash for almost 2 hours (of course raising my jewelcrafting in the process. =P)

i sold one +5agi for 7g and another for 5. I also sold some minor run speed for 10g.

not a bad profit either, i needed it after leveling my JC

Do you want to make money, or do you want to enchant? If all you want is gold, 275 will let you DE anything in the game. If you want to perform the high-level enchantments, then you'll have to use a lot of sellable resources levelling to do so (along with spending beaucoup gold on the recipes). If you're already spending time in the outlands and one of those recipes drops, you'll have to make a decision - sell the recipe and get rich, or level to the point where you can learn the recipe.
