Smithing and Rep GrindingFollow

So I'm a level 43 warrior with 300 Blacksmithing and I'm looking to get a hold of some new plans. I've seen posts mention "grinding rep" to get new plans but could someone explain further. For example I see plans listed where you have to be friendly with Argent Dawn... how do I do this? I browsed the first few pages in the forum but didn't see anything. Thanks!

At level 43 you're going to find it very difficult to grind rep with anybody. Even for the turn-in quests which your main could grind you mats for, there is still usually an earlier quest you have to do to get them.

For example, for Argent Dawn you do a series of quests in Western Plaguelands that gets you a trinket which allows you to find Scourgestones on many of the undead. You can then turn in stacks of these stones for rep. Thorium Brotherhood has all the Dark Iron plans, but to get rep you start with quests at Thorium Point in the Searing Gorge. That leads to a repeatable quest for incendosaur scales plus other mats, leading eventually to a repeatable quest turning in Dark Iron Ore inside BRD. Zandalar tribe has some rep patterns, but getting rep with them involves killing things and collecting items from inside ZG. Cenarion circle has some plans from questing in Silithus.

I know it might be possible to do these with a lot of help from high level players, but I doubt seriously that it would be worth the effort. Wait 'til you get around level 52 and can actually fight your way through some of the quests for rep.

Ok thanks for the info. Now to just get to 50... =) At least I can lay my obsessive blacksmith levelling aside for a while.
