I run here atleast 2 times a week and every single blue there has a large glimmering shard, those sell for 2g a piece on my server and every two runs i make i get about 10. any enchanters out there: go run sfk alot!

Buying a wolfshead helm for 4g and selling the small radiant shard at 7g is a quicker way to make 2g. Just my 2c. And read the D/E guide on this very forum.

I agree. A run through SFK takes about 20 minutes and gets you about 7-8 disenchantable items. In 20 minutes at the AH, I can get hundreds of disenchantable items. Soloing instances is not worth it for disenchanters, even if run time was cut in half.

I disagree. Don't forget that quite a few of the level 16-19 blues that twinks value so highly drop there, including shadowfang, which I've sold several of for 200g.

I stand corrected. But I was thinking about the AH cut.

7*0.95 - 4 = 2.65

which is indeed closer to 3g than 2g.

well... i wouldnt say its a goldmine for all enchanters because prices on servers varies depending on how good the WoW economy is. On one of the older servers, small radiant shards are worth like 2g or even less. And clearly, if you buy a wolfhead helm for 7g and then resell the shard for 2g, you'll be losing a bit more than 5g.

Also, running SFK is not a very great way to get money. Still, lets count how long each sfk run it takes. It takes about 30 minutes on my rogue to run through it once. An hour of running sfk is not as good as my rogue grinding in the outlands, especially with the herbs, the drops, and other factors. Each uncommon that drops is at least 10g by then, plus the vendor trash, and such.

Gotta keep in mind how long sfk runs are, because clearly if it takes 1-2 hours to run sfk, not worth it, just go grind and level up. Higher levels get better loot and more money off drops.

LOL 1-2 hours for SFK, i takes me 30 min to run RFD, or ZF. my friend is a lower lvl enchanter i just take him along as i solo it and he shards the BOP gear, and i keep the BOE blues for AH/ guildies/ self use

Apparently... you're high leveled. As for some people, they may not be as high a level as you are. Also, I think that warlocks have the easiest time soloing low level instances because they can just have felguard or VW grab aggro and then seed of corruption everything and watch them all die.

rakradu, exactly my thoughts too. If the OP is excited about the prospect of 2G from a shard, he can't be possibly high level enough to run RFD in 30 min. Hence why AH browsing is such a powerful way to make money as an enchanter. You don't need to be very high level to get to an AH. (Though I don't know exactly what level you need to be to disenchant all the pre-BC stuff. I know it's 275 for post-BC).

You have to be at 225 for all the pre-BC stuff. 225 is also adequate to DE anything up to level 63 (and some 64) display level (up to 65 iLevel), so it's possible to DE a small amount of postBC stuff.

if your around level 50+ just run SM arm. Herod will drop an item that awlys DE for me into a Small Rad. Shard. Just dont kill any Mob - the first two and then kill herod and the last guys that run in. Non-Elite Easy kills and drops greens and some blues. SFK LOL

And the best chance for getting it to drop is 0.03%. That's three drops out of 10,000 kills (not runs through the instance) on an average. The only thing that ups that is the number of kills you can get when you run SFK. You don't make 200G on that dagger every day. I make between 75 and 200G per day just shuttling between the AH and the mailbox with my alt.
