Okay so I haven't quite maxed my skinning (296) but it will be coming soon. I know there's a way to up it to 375 with some quest and Finkles Knife? The tradeskills search doesn't include skinning that I can tell. How would I go about getting a new cap for my skinning? Also, does level matter? I'm 42 atm.
You need to speak to the trainer in Honor Hold (Outlands).
To go through the portal you need to be lvl 58 (although you could get a summons)
You also need the expansion to access the new content.
Not sure what lvl you need to be to actually train to 375 (cost 5g I think)

Thanks I appreciate the info. Okay, so theoretically I could get two friends in Honor Hold to summon me and then I could get the training? I guess my concern is getting two folks to do that and then realizing that there's some minimum level (58+) that you have to be to get master skinning. Anyone with more input?

level 50 is the minimum requirement for master professions i believe
Is that accurate? You need to be level 50 to become a master at a trade? Because frankly that's silly if it's true.

Why?
Then people would have so many tradeskill alts and it would be really messed up.

I must say, pick up the expansion. Even if you are not high-leveled there are many features you can use.
I was recently in your situation with my shaman. I had a maxed out skinning at 300. This was when I picked up the expansion. I was very angry when my guildies were speaking of being at 375 in their proffesion and I was stuck (unwillingly) at 300.
Sure you can make decent money even with 300 skinning, but honestly, once you get those high level leathers from outland, you are really happy. =]
