Crusader enchant still selling?Follow

I have an opportunity to learn the Crusader enchantment. I could also just sell it. Before I decide I'd like to know if anyone has an idea on how well it's selling since Burning Crusade's release. Since it loses a bit of its appeal upon leveling to 60, are more people foregoing it for Outland-type enchants, or is it still a big seller? Thanks!

I'd suggest selling it to earn some money for your flying mount.

Nobody wants crusader anymore, unless they're a twink that isn't going to level beyond a certain bracket.

Yes, I am an enchanter.

Since nobody said why Crusader wasn't worth it...

Crusader, Lifestealing, and and Icy Chill all took a nerf in patch 2.0.3 (?) to the tune of "decreases in potency for wielders above level 60".

It kind of sucks, but such is the life of an Enchanter, it seems.

Good luck selling the formula for money. On my server, icy chill has dropped to the all time low of 3-4g sell out, and there are like 10+ of them listed. I bidded on one that has a start bid of 75s yesterday night. We'll see whether I win the bid. I'm sure 75s isn't too much for this enchant :)

I haven't checked crusader, but I doubt it faire much better. Everyone knows they aren't what they are anymore, and no new enchanter will be willing to fork large amounts of gold for them.

Crusader wasn't made useless, it is a 4% reduction per level above 60.

At level 60 you get +100 strength and 75 to 125 healed.

At level 70 you get +60 strength and 45 to 75 healed.

People over-react based on patch notes and talk about 'nerfs' so at least short term the demand has decreased. However Crusader was a very good choice of enchantment for a level 60 and it's still a good choice as you level up. It is not as good as Major Striking or Mongoose but it also doesn't cost 6 Void Crystal, 10 Large Prismatic Shard, 8 Greater Planar Essence and 40 Arcane Dust like Mongoose.

Morthandeus made some good points here. Not everyone can afford major striking or mongoose, so you'll still be able to sell the enchant. Just don't expect it to be the money maker as it were. Also, the enchanters selling this will likely not be level 375 so they'll always undercut each other and sell enchants under mat cost. That's the main reason why low-mid level enchants never make any real gold. I don't have trouble selling my enchants (level 262 at the moment), but to make money is a completely different business.
