I want to sell my goods on the auction house but have no clue how to price them. Is there some way to see what a good price would be? Also, when buying a good, how do you know you're getting a fair deal and not getting ripped off.
Thanks

google auctioneer addon and install it. run the scan for about a week to get a general idea of what an item buys/sells for.

Yea I'm not real computer savvy. I downloaded the link off the website which put it into a zip file. I then unzipped it and now there are all these folders. I click on the folders but they don't really do anything. Does anyone know what to do after you unzip it?
Thanks

I'm sure someone more cpu savvy can correct this if it's incorrect. I had an IT buddy help me so this is from memory. When you download it, save it in the addons file in WoW. Then you click to unzip. Should install itself and be running when you log on.

You don't really need to "install" it. You just need to unzip the files into the WorldofWarcraft folder, then Interface, then Addons (or maybe those two are switched). Then when you start WoW you can go to the little addon tab at the character select screen and choose whatever addon you want to use (In this case Auctioneer).

If you are having problems downloading the zip. Just do a check before you put your items in the AH. Find out if there are any of the items and/or something very similar and price accordingly. Just bid to what you think is right. If you have a stack of 10 firefins(fish) and they are priced anywhere from 2g to 5g just either underbid or price somewhere in the middle.
Simple solution.
Stupid as it sounds. I always do this before I sell something in AH. I just see what is available on that day and price accordingly.

After you unzip it to the Wow/interface/addons folder, in character select make sure Auctioneer, Stubby, and enhtooltip are selected. Ignore btmscanner for now. Before using Auctioneer seriously, I would recommend you scan twice daily(morn/night) for about 2 weeks. That gives you a reliable price database. Its a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, it's awesome.
Any of your questions are probably answered here :http://norganna.org/wiki/Main_Page

Add-ons are nice from what I've read about them, but you don't need them. Check your AH for pricing on items that are either exactly what you have or very similar to what you have to get pricing.

You can also use the search feature here to pull up a general price guide.

There are 3 types of players:
- those who sell stuff to vendors or randomly on AH
- those who use the technique you describe
- those who install Auctioneer and learn how to use it

I'll let you guess which ones are rich.

use the auctioneer addon and search up the item on this site. It should display its average price on the AH.

One point to remember. The pricing information you get from Auctioneer is only as good as your database. The more often you scan the AH, the more accurate your pricing information will be. At the very least, you should perform a scan daily for about a week. Twice daily is even better.

At first I had trouble with installing mods, especially auctioneer. Then I went to the UI Central site and downloaded their program. Now, once a week or so I run their stand-alone app and it checks for any updates I may need, installs them if I wish, and its all very easy. Try it. And NO, I don't work for them or do their site programming.

I don't use add-ons and I don't plan to. After a while you just understand what items are worth. After about 1-2 weeks you get good at "playing" the AH. Now I make about 50-100g per weekend. What I did was send all my money from my main (50g) to my alt. So now I never have to go bak to Org for anything but training. I have not sent any money from my main down to my alt, it is now the other way. the alt is actually supporting my main for money. i have about 350g now after only 2 weeks of just using the AH for about 20mins a day. It rly works well and is a very profitable buisness. THERE ARE MANY NEWBS WHO UNDER PRICE ITEMS, don't make fun of them, USE THEM FOR YOUR INCOME. :)

All the mods that work for PCs will work for Macs as well. They are actually scripts written in WoW's internal language, rather than stand-alone executables.

Well in that case, I have a mage (working on tailoring and enchanting) and a hunter(working on skinning and mining), which add-ons do you recommend I get?

Download Auctioneer (http://norganna.com/). It's the only mod that I think is universal. Look over the mods at the three main UI websites: Curse Gaming, WoWinterface, and Worldofwar.net.
