What Would You Say Sells Better?Follow

Im thinking looking into different economies on varying servers and im especially fond of mining (Have a good run for copper), so, i was wondering, in your experiences does the ore sell quicker or slow than the bars and do the bars go for more cash? Please give me the numbers!

Thanks in advance!

It really depends on your realm. On mine, I haven't sold many bars but I've seen ores go pretty quick and bars a little slower. (I play Gurubashi and Warsong)

xfacctor is right im on the gurabashi realm too and, well to be honest nothing is selling too well (i suppose you can blame the flying mounts for that)but the ore does go better than bars from whats ive seen. i dont know exact numbers becuase i usually sell them to ppl i know instead of using AH but i also sell them for slightly cheaper than i would in AH

it not only varies from server to server, but it also varies from day to day within that server. So if I have a stack of xxxx ore, I will check the AH on how many stacks of ore there is and what they are selling for and compare it to how many stacks of the bar there is and what is it selling for.

One day, I had 9 silver ore. Looked at AH and saw a ton of silver bars and zero silver ores. I put up that 9 silver ore for 20G and it sold in less than ten minutes. About a week later, I had 6 silver ore, took a look at the AH and saw only a couple silver bars selling well versus a bunch of silver ore selling for a little less. So I turned it into bars and sold for a few gold more than the ore.

What I am trying to say is, if you want to make money, take your time and look around a little bit in the AH. If you blow in and blow out expect to make a little less.

Well, ever since TBC came out, my server's economy (Kul Tiras EU) has seen low and mid level ores in constant high demand. Particularly silver and Thorium are ridiculously expensive at the moment. Also we've seen increases in the cost of low level gems (obvious). For instance, I've seen tigerseye go for as much as 1g each. I reckon that once we see most of the new gemcrafters pass the 300 mark things will calm down a bit. The problem is that with everyone mainly in outland, I'd imagine you won't see supply on iron and mithril bounce back too much keeping everything fairly pricey.

Ores tend to sell faster and for more money for a couple reasons.

Jewelcrafting - prospecting takes ores, not bars and with JC being the new fad, everyone and their mother is doing it.
Other miners - buy lower ores to help skill up some by smelting them themselves
engineers/blacksmiths - typically miners aswell, so they buy ore to smelt then craft with.

on my server (using copper as an example) bars go for 1G a stack or so, whereas the ore goes for up to 2G a stack. with the profits getting even higher with higher end orse, thorium, gold, silver being the main money makers for my priest.
