Going To Mass Mine CopperFollow

#1 Feb 20 2007 at 11:53 PM Rating: Default
As im going to do some heavy engineering, i thought i'd borrow some money from a friend who plays, buy myself some 14 slotters and a nice mining pick and go mine 500 copper, question is, at some point copper won't level me, do i keep the ore for other accounts/making bombs or do i AH it?

If you lean towards AH'ing can you please offer some prices for a 20 stack?

Bare in mind my server has a wicked economy and that my copper spot owns.

On my server copper bars go for about 1 gold per stack so I would sell them if I were you :)

Hmm, good, that way i can pay back my debt, powerlevel mining and have engineering up with some cash left over!

Please list your server names, prices and ore/bar.

Smiley: lolI'm glad that I read this, I have been using my bars to create items and selling those items to vendors. Looks like I have a lot to learn still about the WOW economy. Thanks all for the help.

lol..wetlands is the best place to mine copper IMO..i got a 42 lock with mining and I like to hunt there..there are like 10-12 fast respawn nodes in the swamps (always under water) also alot of tin ..some iron..and a good spot for gold node..all are fast respawns it seems. I can go hunting for a couple hrs and mine like crazy..walking away with no less than 200 copper ores or more..

Golden rule of WoW. The resource used to create an item is usually (there are always exceptions to every rule) worth more than the item. If it is white, green, blue, or purple chances are it sells better on the AH than at a vendor.

I only vendor grey items, and a very few white items that I know from experience won't sell for a week or so on the AH so I just vendor it. Otherwise the AH is your friend.

i rolled on a brand new server once.

at the end of the first week, one stack of copper was getting 8s at the auction house lol.

that's right. mining didn't even make enough to pay for my class training.

Best copper spot in the game. Allies don't want other allies to know this. Unfortunately it's alittle complicated for horde to pull off because of it's proximity to Ironforge. Ok slightly east northeast of IF theres a quarry, im sure you've seen it but no one seems to notice all the damn copper there. I'm sure right after I point this out my ally alts are going to have a tough time finding copper. Ok theres a method to this, 150 copper/hr gaurenteed or your time spent reading this back. Around the inside of the quarry on the walls are a few veins, inside the cave are a few veins, and around the top of the quarry walls are a few veins, on the mountains to the north and south are a few veins, on the hill to the north and east are a few veins, spend some time there finding all the veins and you'll start to see the running path, its kinda like a figure eight, your going to run around the inside of the quarry getting all the veins, go into the caves and get the 5-6 veins there, come back out and run up the hill and turn left and go to the hill infront of you get the veins off that hill and turn around and run down the cliff walls back into the quarry, get the veins on that side and run back up the hill turning right this time. If your not lazy you can run to the frozen lake and hit the 2 veins inside the hole in the ice, then make your way back around to a small hill covered in trees between the frozen pond and the quarry and hit the 2-3 veins up there, then run over to the east side of the quarry (still on the top of it) and get the 2 veins on the mountain, fall back into the quarry, rinse and repeat, by the time you get the last few veins the first veins will be showing up again, too easy, rinse and repeat.

Copper was certainly a good ore to sell when the Xpac came out as high lvl players who didn't want to go round all the beginning zones were paying crazy amounts but I agree with the 1-2g stack price at the moment. It seems to be fairly consistent across more established servers.

Both IF and Org have easy access to large amounts of copper and are my money spinners while waiting for BGs to pop (it helps if you have a travel form or have a mount but a quick 20 minutes run on my druid could net me 2-5 at AH, rinse and repeat several times a night and you can see that is soons adds up). The IF path has been mentioned and for Org just go south out of Org to Durotar, turn east toward the zep platform. The north side of Drygulch ravine, skull rock, dead eye shore and dustwind cave all have plenty of copper in easy reach of the city. As a higher lvl the mobs don't aggro and mining is plentiful.
