hi im a new lvl blacksmith/miner (switched profssions very late into game) and wanted to know 2 things wat is a good way to lvl in both professions quickly, i also want to know at what point do i have to choose between armorsmith and weponsmith? i am currently a lvl 42 night elf warrior and want to know which is better, weapon making, or armor making. i like weapons with great d.p.s. and hit points but also like armor with great protection.

Hiya,

Mining is fairly easy to level, although since you're starting at 42 you'll have to run around starting areas for a while. You probably have a mount by now so it will be pretty fast.

IMO blacksmithing is pretty tough to level, you will lose money, or at least feel like it, because a lot of times you won't be able to sell your crafted items on the AH for much, and once you're up to 150 or so gathering mats becomes slower.

I'm an armorsmith, but I haven't been able to level fast enough to actually use my crafted items - i'm at 280 and level 63. There are some nice recipes, but a lot are obtained through instances or are random drops which sell for a good amount on the AH.

Honestly I'd recommend going with Weaponsmith. Then all classes can use what you make, as opposed to just Mail and Plate wearers. You could also listen to the trade channel in cities to see what ppl are advertising - your server might have tons of swordsmiths, for example, already.

You don't HAVE to choose a specialization right away, so don't rush - you can continue leveling blacksmithing while you decide.

<--You could also check out the list to the left for Trade Skills, by Trade, and choose a specialization based on the recipes you like there.
