I got my Alch 178/Herb 210 at lv 34 and they'been giving quite a hefty profit with FA potions and Swiffness potions. But I recently started working this new toon and i took mining/eng. because he's going to be my twink, and i notice that mining gives so much money in short periods of time. So i got this idea in my head to swap Alch for Minig. Do you think is a good idea, or should i stick to Alch since i'm more than half way to 300? Which one will give me more profit in the long run?
If you're going to be leveling up the alt as well, I would say stick with Alchemy. Mining makes a lot of money as you level, but at least on my server it seems as though there are way too many high level miners out there. Stacks of herbs and even stacks of the new leather are going for twice as much as stacks of ore. So I dropped mining and went back to skinning/herbalism. It's working for me.
Also, alchemy can help you out with all the potions you make in addition to the money you make by selling them. If you find you are getting some use out of alchemy I would stick with it. If you're not using the potions you make though, you could consider picking up mining. It is a pain to go back and level it though.
I would check out the prices for high level herbs, potions and ore/bars on your server auction house before making any decisions though.

Well my main toon is the one that has Alch/Herb, and ive seen that some high lv potion sell realy high. My soon to be twink stopped at lv 29, and he's the one with mining/eng.
The reason i was considering dropping alch is beceause mining gave my alt about 30g by the time he was lv 28. My main is lv34 and he's got 64g, but that's because i spend a lot of time with him in the auction house and selling stuff. The only reason i haven't dropped alch yet is becasue my frineds keep telling me that i'll need some of the end game potions, and they're rather expensive.

Stick with the alchemy. The potions are allways helpful in BG. Swiftness potions + WSG = Great flag returns.
I'm mining a truckload of copper, going to max level my engi and sell the remainder.
