What's a good money making profession?Follow

I posted a similar qustion on the main forums before I figured to do it here (duh!). I am thinking of changing one of my profs (leatherworking lev 153) to something that earns more gold. I liked it when my lev 35 hunter was younger 'cause I could make a lot of my own armor. But it doesn't seem to be very profitable selling armor pieces at vendors or the AH. So, I was thinking about mining. Seems that gold and other minerals sell great. Also, I plan on keeping skinning (level 248) because I can always sell a good amount of skins at the vendor or AH after questing.

Just looking for some advise before I "unlearn" all that leatherworking experience. Thanks.

There were several good responses to your other post, but just to reiterate what most of them said, any of the gathering professions help (skinning/mining/herbs). Also dont forget about fishing. As a hunter, I catch most of the food for my pets. However, most of my money has been made through the auction house, as a "day trader". You can also take up enchanting, not so much to enchant, but to disenchant and sell the mats on the AH. Mike has posted a great guide in this forum on the mechanics of DE for profit.

Great idea on the enchant. Never really thought of that. I'm always getting lower lev greens that no one really wants. Give a lot to lower lev guildies but I could disenchant and sell the mats on AH...I might give it a try. Thanks.

I myself went skinning+mining. I had mount money by 30, and when I stopped leveling this character at 44, I had 300+ gold. I never did any effort to make money, I just skinned everything and mined everything in my path.
