With TBC and Jewelcrafting on the way you could consider mining as a good income source. If you just want items to disenchant you could look at tailoring, esp brown linen robes, green silk shouldres, white bandit mask, black mageweave headband and runecloth belt.

I took skinning/fishing with enchanting. Why? Because tailoring is a waste of sellable mats. Cloth should be sold to people who want to level their tailoring or be used for levelling First Aid, rather than be used up in an effort to level enchanting. Enchanting itself is a good moneymaker when you drop the idea of enchanting to make things better and instead take up the idea that disenchanting things produces sellable mats for those who haven't gotten that idea. You need to level to 20 and raise enchanting to 225 in order to disenchant items to level 65, and that's not a problem, since disenchanting will provide you with plenty of mats, as well as loads of gold. Skinning, while it doesn't make a lot of gold at low levels, is innocuous, and you will always find critters to skin. When you get to level 35, go to Uldaman and get your artisan enchanting - When you raise your enchant level to 300, you'll be able to disenchant anything that TBC will be able to provide.

By the way, there are so many "brown linen robes, green silk shouldres, white bandit mask, black mageweave headband and runecloth belt" available on my server at bargain prices on the AH that they have become items that can be disenchanted for a 100% profit when I sell the mats.
