Quick question about enchanting costs...Follow

#1 Nov 30 2006 at 9:55 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, I've seen hundreds of guides with how much of what regs I'll need, but theres one thing I can't find anywhere that I would like to know before I find annoura...

...how much does it cost, in Gold, to train up to artisan [5, i think?], and more importantly, how much do I need to bring with me to purchase all of her enchants that she can train me in?

thanks,
-V

A question related to the topic...

I understand the notion of taking mats with you and lvling all the way up in one trip....but what do you enchant? Do you take bags full of stuff to enchant? Can you just keep putting the same enchant on your own gear, repacing it with identical enchants (I didn't think that gave you skill-ups)?

Boots, bracer and chest should be all you need, whether you use your own or bring along extra, or enchant for your party members. I used my own, worn, items. The instructions that I followed stated:

Quote:
Once you reach the trainer talk to her to become artisan enchanter. Once you're artisan enchanter enchant gloves with agility to get to 235, a chest item with superior health to get to 245 and a bracer with greater strength to get to 250. Once you have trained all the recipe's she can train you, you can leave the instance.

Enchant the bracer some more with greater strength to get to 265.

The guide that I used for this trip is located at www.xs4all.nl/~brt/wow/guides/skillupenchanting.html

Hope this helps.

No idea how universal prices for enchanting mats are across servers so my list may not work best on another server. I found the list of enchants to skill up from 225 to 250 that I found on the web extremely pricey so I made my own list. Although I reached 225 before going I did not ignore enchants that took considerable less skill. I've found that skilling up on a yellow to make and even green to make can be cost effective.

I planed on skilling up on the following;
205 skill Enchant cloak greater defense. Vision dust X3.
215 skill Enchant Boots stamina. Vision dust X5.
220 skill Enchant chest superior health Vision dust X6.
235 skill Enchant bracer deflection Greater Nether ess X1, dream dust X2
245 Enchant Bracer greater stamina Dream dust X5.

I took with me 140 vision dust, 45 dream dust, 10 Nether essence, scroll of Enchant bracer deflection and scroll of enchant bracer greater stamina as she does not teach either of these.

I've taken two enchanters in with this list. Both times I had at least a 1/3 of it left. Just I felt it better safe then sorry. Greater Nether essence and dream dust being so much more expensive on my server then Vision dust I take extra of it to keep skilling past 235. The last time I went I came out with mats for 8 enchants of bracer deflection left, as well as a few stacks of vision dust.

It can also be a money saver if the people you go with have need of things like Enchant boots agility or enchant chest stats. These are too expensive to just skill up doing them. But very nice if you want them on your own gear or one of the folks that is in your party wants them. Look over the list of things you will learn before going and see if party members will buy them at cost or even a discount while there.
