Im a 29 lvl warlock tailoring/enchanting (150/150) on Darksorrow server
I have a problem with getting mats for my tailoring things (currently heavy leather to make a 10 slot bag). AH is weak on this PvP server (for low level goods), so i want to ask are there mobs which can drop heavy leather ? or I need someone with skinning/leatherworking skill to do some for me ?
I saw once a stack of heavy leather at AH, but i didn't need it and the price was too high.

Off hand I cannot think of any mob that drops leather. It has to be skinned.
If you are in a guild ask if any guildies have some.
If not, then go to a suitable area, one with lots of beasts, and ask if someone will skin for you, if you kill the beasts and give them a bit of cash.

very occasionally, you can find leather in one of the various chests - you can type your leather into the search bar at the left to see what type of chest they come from. They can also occasionally be found in the boxes fished up in some of the wreckage spawns.
But you're far better off looking for a skinner on the LFG channel and helping him level up grinding mobs in exchange for some of the skins.

I know your not an engineer but it is dropped from the target dummies that are made from them...

Another idea is to see who is selling the leather in the Auction House. Send them a whisper when they're on, and try to work out a deal.
Another method ya'll prolly forgot about... Fishing floating debris. I'm always getting bolts of cloth or leather from them. Much more of that then actual items. Now as to which areas to fish in... Maybe tanaris, I'm not sure. I've forgotten the level range of heavy leather
