My skinning was going fine till it hit 100.
im lvl 16 now and for past few lvls ive been skinning but its not going higher its still at 100/150 no matter how much i skin. the creatures im skinning are at lvl 15-16ish but the skill doesnt raise. Is it because i need to skin higher lvl creatures to increase the skinning more? or do i need to buy some sort of better knife or what?

When you go to skin a creature, the tooltip will have the word "skinnable". If that word is grey you will not get a skill-up. If it is green you will rarely get a skin up, yellow means sometimes and with orange you often will. With any skill other than skinning orange means you always get a skill-up, skinning is the exception. As your skill is 100 and the mobs you are skinning require 75-80 skill I suspect they are grey so no skills. I really wouldn't worry too much, skinning is the easiest skill to level, just skin and sell on the AH everything and you will do fine.

thx for the reply. btw the thing that worried me is the skinning colour is green sometimes yellowish and ive been skinning quite a lot now for abt 2 lvls and havnt got a single increase in skinning. i will just continue and hope it goes up i guess.

Just a thought: You aren't by any chance on a 10-day trial are you? I hit the same trouble (100/150 cap on Primary Professions) while I was on a trial.
The following restrictions are placed on all trial accounts:
- A level cap of 20.
- A maximum of 10 gold.
- Trade skills are capped at 100 ranks.
- Inability to trade via the auction house, mailbox, or player-to-player.
- In-game chat channels will be unavailable.
- A limit on the number of tells that can be sent.
- Realms with login queues will give priority to customers with retail accounts.
