Out of all professions (including sub professions) which is the most profitable (asuming that a person is willing to dedicate a fair amount of time to the profession to make an honest coin) - Also (while im here) which proffessions would you recomend for other reasons (e.g more fun.....less mundane...more desirable.....more demand for etc) and why?

If your going for profitable, you would want to pick a gathering profession, skinning, mining, or herbalism.

If your looking for fun - thats most definately engineering no question about that.

As far as recommending other professions, its hard to say, if this is your first character i would not recommend enchanting at first. But really other than that you cant go wrong.

Fishing is the most profitable. Take skinning and one other gathering profession for the most money.

Reasoning behind no production trade skills:
1) Not taking any production professions leaves you free to sell the mats. If you had a production profession, you'd be tempted to use them instead.
2) For the most part, crafted items don't sell for as much as the materials to make them. This is true for all production trade skills.

Reasoning behind Fishing:
Deviate Fish - Useful in making giant growth potions and for cooking Savory Deviate Delight.
Oily Blackmouth - used to create Blackmouth oil, an ingredient in many potions.
Firefin Snapper - used to create Fire Oil, an ingredient in many potions.
Stonescale Eel - used to create Stonescale Oil, and ingredient in several high-level potions.

Reasoning behind skinning plus another gathering skill.
You can't see mining nodes and plants on the miniscreen at the same time.
