Okay, looked in the sticky and perused about the last 5 pages, hope this hasnt been posted in awhile. Ive found myself fishing recently, between quest runs and waiting for people, and ive been meaning to ask this but never got around to it. Im lvl 38, well about 39, and ive seen plenty of schools of fish, blackmouth, firefin, whatever, but have never seen any of these pools of floting wreckage. Just wondering where I might find some, I realize theyre probably tougher to find considering the possible rewards so im not surprised I havent found any yet. Im usually all over the place, so location isnt too much of a problem unless its full of mobs that are consistently over 40. Thanks, resist bashing, yeah.

Back when I was on my big fishing kick, I used to run(ok, ride) a specific path in STV. I was about level 42 at the time.

It was basically along the river from Nesingwary's out to the ocean. From there I would go south along the coast until I was across from the island of the Zandalar Tribe. Then I'd go back. When I hit 44, I switched it to going from the mouth of the river north til I reached BB and then going back all the way to Nesingwary's. I fished all wreckage and sagefish schools, leveled my tailoring the last 35 points on runecloth from fishing.

If you're not seeing wreckage, try fishing out the other schools and hoping for a spawn.

My first wreckage pool was in Westfall, fyi.

so the wreckage gives you trade goods and stuff? Cool. I found one on lordamere lake and I thought it was like a dud spawn thing..never realized that.

Yes you'll fish up some crates. The crates usually contain some of the following: money, bolts of cloth, leather, rum, etc. The higher the zone level, the better the contents, I.E. bolts of silk vs bolts of wool.

Sometimes you’ll pull up a mug of some kind of alcoholic beverage. I actually think a bottle would have been more appropriate, as I’d think anything in a mug would have quickly spilled into the water. *shrugs* Or you may pull up some strangle kelp. But you have a very good chance of pulling up an unlocked crate.

The crates usually contain coins and some trade skill goods. If you are lucky you may also find a piece of green gear. This is usually armor. I’ve yet to see a magic weapon in a crate. The higher the level the area these are fished up in the higher level the items. We used to be able to pull up bloated fish that could contain a gem or piece of magic jewelry. But Blizzard removed them from the wreckage pools a couple of patches or so ago. Though I think you can still pull up bloated fish from the regular pools of fish.

If you're Alliance, then another good place to find wreckage is north of Theramore on the coast where the non-aggro turtles are.

The area around Steamwheedle Port is also pretty good for wreckage if your fishing skill is high enough.

As mentioned above by Poldaran, the wreckage is on the same spawn cycle as stuff like blackmouth and firefin schools. So you may need to fish those if you don't see any wreckage.

Occasionally a normal school will give you a chest also.
