I am a level 60 Priest and have 300 enchanting and tailoring skills. I am wondering if it would be better for me to tailor a set of MC gear through the various enchants and tailoring recipes available to me or to just farm one? I am not in a raiding guild at the moment and thought it might be fun to make my own set. Besides the fact that my farming opportunities for the high level instances are not overflowing. Is it reasonable to think that I can make my own set or just a wasted effort on my part? Any advice you guys have would be appreciated.
Unfortuanaly, the FR gear you can get in instances is just soooooo much better than that you can make(the exeption is the stuff you can make that requires mats from MC to make so you can go in to MC, odd , well I think so), Even as early as BRD you can get some FR bracers with Decent stats(stat mods are pusdo random) as well as some goodins in UBRS and arround the world.
It would not hurt to make up what ever you can that has FR(assuming that it is not "Putting you out" becasue you never know when you will replace it) and then just Nuke the parts as you replace them with better FR gear. The key to this is to remember that you are doing it with Loss(not much loss since you can nuke any unused gear) in mind. Remember to get your royal seal from DM.
Next is to remember that the first half of MC, YOU will not need a whole lot of FR(the tank is a whole diffrent story), sure it would be uefull, yet for the most part the healers can get away with little to zero FR for the first 4 bosses. I remember the first time My guild ever tryed MC, Not a single epic in the whole 40 man party, heck not even everybody was level 60(we had one level 58 and three level 59's) and we still droped the first 2 bosses(wiped after that), Yup, with only One Tranq shot in the whole party.
The bottem line i am getting at is that FR is not That important, it is Super cool that you are thinking about it. The best plan is to keep it in mind when you run any of the "Firey" instances.

I think the flaming emblem is a must for those hard boss fights...or even Ony in the third phase when she fears like crazy. Or you can just have your mage buddy cast fireward on you. lemme go find it...
