Yes you can, but keep in mind tailoring is cloth. You want leather.

You want professions that will make you rich AND give you tons of cash? *smiles*

I would suggest taking two gathering profession to start with. They will most likely make you the most money as you level up. Any profession where you make things will cost you money to level it. Once your level 60, or close to it, you can drop your gathering professions if you like and take up other professions. You will be in a better position to farm/buy the materials to quickly level up your new professions.

For those who simply enjoy making things then production professions can be lots of fun to have while leveling up. But they rarely make you money until you cap them out and gain rare patterns.

Enchanting is a great profession later on. But if you are taking it for the money then you will have to do a lot of the high end instances and do a lot of reputation grinding to get the harder to get enchants that people are willing to pay the big bucks for. Leveling up enchanting for a new character will suck your bank account dry. Tailoring will help, as you can make items to disenchant. But you will also have to pour money into tailoring to keep it leveled. They are good professions to take, but not if your main goal is to make money as you level.

Q. How can I make money in WoW? (Torux)

A. The best way is to take two gathering proffessions (mining, skinning and/or herbalism) and sell the items you get in the auction house to crafters. Some people learn enchanting, then disenchant items they no longer want (as well as soulbound items from quests), and sell the dust, essence and shards to enchanters. Shards sell for alot more than dusts and essnces.

A1. This holds true for the first forty levels or so, usually up until you get your mount. With a mount, your money-making abilities increase ten-fold. You can move faster, gather more per hour, and increase your profits (and this is just with gathering). However, even later in the game, the easiest way to get money is to get some rare recipes and make items no one else can. Charge a base line and have people bring you materials; it's free for you and good for them!

Another good way to make money is to play the AH; buy low and sell high. I won't go into this daytrading technique; this is stuff for people with a lot of time and good market skills ^_^ Keep in mind a lot of people are upset by morals here: when you overstep the line and buyout everything to resell it at a higher price, it tends to become a pain. If you can do it, hey, it's all good! But odds are that a lot of people will scoff at your price and make you eat the deposit fees. A better idea: look for underpriced items and sell them at the current price. This is easy and effective.

As the others have already said, pick two gathering professions. When combined with not upgrading your items every 2 levels you should save up alot of money.

And to be and pedantic, a little grammer and spelling work never hurt anyone and it's rogue btw.

I strongly suggest you take herbalism as one of your skills so you can gather fadeleaf and swiftthistle. You'll need these in later levels and will set you back a fortune if you buy them from AH.

You'll probably be able to sell them well too
