Night Elf Cooking and FishingFollow

This is mostly for Night Elves but can be used by others if they wanted to. I've tried to document the best way I've found to raise your Cooking and fishing skills at the most basic level. I find it very efficient although fishing quite honest can be tedious at the best to times.

Start out by killing owls for their eggs. When you have 5 or so, go to Dolonaar and buy some mild spice (they come in groups of 5). Cook them and keep doing this as you do your normal questing until you are ready to leave the island. At Rut’theran, where you leave the island, find Androl Oakhand the fisherman trainer near the water. Learn your fishing skill. Go just up the hill to Nessa Shadowsong to buy a fishing pole, and a shiny bobber(or 2). Load the bobber onto your pole to make your fishing skill go up quicker. Each bobber lasts 10 minutes. While you are with Nessa, buy recipe: Slitherskin Makerel and recipe: Rainbow Fin Albacore. They will come in handy later. Now it’s time to fish. Just go down to the water, put your pole in your hand and fish. Fish for about 20 minutes with the bobber on your pole and you will have a whole slew of Makerel.

Now it’s time to go to Auberdine. When you get there, leave the Inn and you will see two small bridges. Go just across the one on the left and you will see a campfire to the left. Train your Slitherskin Makerel recipe and start cooking the fish. Watch that cooking skill go up! Now it’s ready to move onto slightly bigger fish. Under the Hippogryph platform will be an old fishing fanatic called Gubber Glump. He’ll give you a quest that will get your fishing skill even higher and as you fish, you’ll catch Rainbow Fin Albacore. (You'll also get a better fishing pole when you complete the quest) That fish can be used to cook too. Catch a bunch of those Albacore and cook them back at the campfire. By now you should have raised both cooking and fishing up quite a bit. So far, this is the best way I’ve found to raise both skills at the same time and at a fairly rapid rate. Hope this helps!

Personaly what I did was:

Train cooking and fishing skills in darnassus. Run back to lake al'meth(sp?) and fish away (didn't need any lure, though one wouldn't hurt for the first 10-20 skill points) untill I had 50 Raw Briliant Smallfish. Run to dolanaar where there is a campfire to cook at. Cook the 50 smallfish, which got my to 50 cooking. Use Recipe: Longjaw Mud Snapper which can be bought right there. Then cook however many Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper you happened to get or up to the 75 skill cap then train.

It only took about 30 minutes to get the initial 75 skill in both fishing and cooking.

Then train your fishing skill (think this can be done to expert in darnassus). And fish away at darkshore without worrying about not catching fish. I don't think I did any more fishing except the two fishing quests in darkshore. Then moved on to booty bay and wailing caverns. Fished in booty bay up to 190 fishing or so.. then moved out in to stranglethorn vale, fished the greater sagefish spots cooked them up and started selling them at AH. I raised cooking by mostly cooking fish up to 220 or so.
