I want to know where the NPC is, how much money it can make, and how difficult the quest is. Thanks. I am a Tauren Shammy too.

You cant say "_____ Leatherworking makes the most money." It depends on the server.

None, they are all a money sink, if you work it extra hard you may get some gold out of any branch, but that takes work.

To make money out of any crafting profession, the player has to be the kind of person who sits arround on alla, reads all the mats for the diffrent branhces, then checks the AH on There server to see what would sell best on there server. Keeping in mind that if what you wanted was money you would not be in leatherworking(mining or herbology is a great companion to skinning for those who just need money).

Regardless of your choice to do elemental, tribal or dragonscale, the mats for all 3 outsell the crafted items, so by crafting ANY branch of leatherworking you dip in to a negetive profitt margin. Yet a open mind sees there is much more to a craft than the money, there is use.

Some slightly sellable stuff
Blue dragonscale gear, shaman can use this stuff, I would only loose about 5-6 gold if i crafted a set of the 3 peices rather than selling the mats.

Dragonscale gloves,Dependent on server age, you may be able to break even making theese vs selling the mats on the AH, everybody loves a lil cirt, both shaman and hunters....

The devilsaur set, while you cannot buy mats at the AH, Craft and sell for a profitt, you can make just about the same gold on crafting the items vs selling the skinns needed.

The Epics, each branch of LW can make a epic cloke, the one most purhcased is the "Hide of the Wild" that is made by tribal leather workers, if a person has all the mats, i usualy make 2-6 gold for making the item.

So the awnser to you question, and your snakry reply to the sticky that you did not fully read(the awnsers were there, but you had to click a link) is, none, there is no branch that will make you money.

I actually make 25-40 g profit off each of my Black Drag Breastplates, and I buy all my mats off the AH. I must admit to playing the AH alot because I can't always be on for hours to do instances.

BTW here's a link to my pricelist I made

I can't even begin to tell you just how wrong you are, Capitolg.

I am a 300 Elemental Leatherworker, and yes, I used gold to grind my way up to Level 300. Probably about 150 gold, all told.

But, since then, and having acquired patterns that require high reputation with one faction or another, I have made well over 4,000 gold on just the crafting aspect.

For instance, one night, I'm in IF advertising my wares/abilities. I am whispered by a guild leader, whose guild was about to go to Molten Core. They cut a deal with me. I crafted that which they needed, and they would give me a large tip. THEY provided their own materials, and I just crafted each piece. Sure, it took me a half hour to work up a good fifty-sixty pieces of armor.

But the 250 gold tip was well worth the half hour. Don't know a whole lot of people who can make 250 gold in a half hour of farming.

If you're looking to make Leather gear for yourself, as a Shaman, then at lower levels, Tribal will be your best bet. Higher level shamans, however, will want Dragonscale. If you have the patience to wait to wear the stuff you would be making, then Dragonscale is where you want to go.

However, there are also situational needs in some of the advanced leatherworking paths. Elemental, for instance, can make some of the best Fire Resistant Leather armor in the game.

If you're worried about endgame viability for any of the three advanced paths, then the only real useful path is Elemental, simply for the different resists it can make(Fire for MC, BWL, and Onyxia/Frost for Naxx, etc). If you want money... well, most of the money is going to come from high-level characters. And noting the just listed instances, Elemental is again your best choice. I can account for this through personal experience. The armor itself is not going to be better than which you would acquire through end-game raiding, BUT, most endgame armor will NOT have the Fire Resistance, etc, that you can acquire through the Elemental Leatherworking craft.

The Fire Resist gear is the ONLY reason I chose that path, mostly because it would greatly help my guild when we raid, and it had the best chance for profit. Plus, I play a Rogue, and I knew that I would be unlikely to end up winning rolls for high-end FR gear.
