1st answer: No, 1 enchant per item. You can overwrite an old enchant with a better one, however.

2nd Answer: Enchanting is not for the faint of heart, nor is it for the poor. You will almost invariably lose money on enchanting until you reach above 275. If you've reached a high enough level, enchanting may be for you, but don't be suckered in by the promises made about enchanting making huge money, because it's a huge effort to acheive that.

He speaks the truth. I'm a noob, but my friends managed to give a lot to me. On the order of hundreds of gold. I've gotten Chanting up to 225, too, rather quickly (in under two weeks of playing, and with the first 50 gold). Don't get me wrong- it's a handy skill- my character reaps the benifits of armor that's always upgraded right away. But it is a money sink. I've enchanted friends and guildies, always at a loss.

When starting, I was under the illusion that, once at 300 skill, I would be able to enchant cheaply and at high prices. Not sure, perhaps 275+ really is profittable to some degree or another.. but 225's been a complete drain. Even some of the recipes are deeply overpriced (+2 fishing skill to gloves, for instance, is generally 5-6g! After that, you still need to gather the mats to cast it. And who the hell wants +2 Fishing to their gloves in all but extreme circumstances?).

all but extreme circumstances,
yer, and even then their only going to buy it the once, not like selling potions or some thing expendable.
Do you enchanters make any money selling 'mana oils' or 'wizard oils'?

It's not great money, but I do occasionally. To be honest, though, I'd make money more reliably by selling the mats. For me, crafting the oils is for personal use, really.

I wish I could make my own mana oils, I think the enchanters on my server/faction have all given up trying to sell the enchantment oils.
It's hard to find when your the only one buying.
