Shammy prof?Follow

#1 Aug 02 2006 at 10:00 AM Rating: Decent
I started an Orc shaman and I'm trying to decide what professions to give him. My warrior is an alchemist and my hunter is a leatherworker. I'm saving enchanting and jewelcrafting for a BE rogue that I'll roll when BC comes out. What professions should I give the shaman? I'm thinking maybe enchanting/skinning and just disench for mats to sell so they're both essentially gathering skills. Does mining tend to make more than disenchanting? What about herbalism? It didn't seem to be profitable to sell herbs with my warrior but maybe I was doing something wrong. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I chose gnomish engineering and mining. And i dont regret one moment of it. Since i chose a resto spec im so glad i can use the green lens of healing at such a low level. I can outheal priests at level 43!! :) Of course i have other + healing items totaling around +100 healing for everything.

But since i chose resto spec, i dont do much damage at all. Its nice to have some dynamite to chuck every once in a while if for whatever reason i might die.

You cant go wrong with engineering whatever spec you choose for a shaman.

If you are going for money, two gathering tradeskills + fishing are the way to go. If you aren't worried about money because it can be fed from one of your alts, anything goes.

QFT, if you go this route, skinning and herbs is a great combo, both can be done from ghost wolf(unlike mining).

I have skinning and Enchanting on my Orc Shammy.

Skinning all beasts after you kill them while questing/grinding adds up.
sell in stacks on AH for a nice profit.

Disenchant green/blue items that don't usually sell on AH for much, and disenchant Soulbound items after you're done for them and turn them into mats. Use the mats to enchant your new gear.

that's what I do. works out quite well IMO.
