300Herb/300Alch.... Switch?Follow

#1 Aug 01 2006 at 4:42 AM Rating: Default
I am a Rogue and I have lvled trade skills to 300 and ditched them for another SO MANY TIMES... I need to find a solid one that will still improve with new patches and stuff. By improve, I mean: reputation required recipes, drops from end game mobs, and useful things. I have 300herb/alch currently. I am thinking of going leather/skin (I have done this once before getting both to 300).

I cannot choose what profession to go. I want one with the ability to make sellable things and help people out and craft epic things and end game based things.

Should I switch to Leatherworking so I can get some actual rare recipes or stay Alchemy?

Don't bother with LW, it doesn't make you a dime. If you're on a mature server you'll have plenty of competition. However, if you're on a newer server you might be alright. Or if your guild needs one. I went skin/LW on my hunter and he is my poorest character (proportionate to level of course). My other chars are on a different server and I have a miner/skinner, an herb/skinner, and a (dis)enchanter/AH mule, and the three of them make a LOT of money for their level.

You can make a lot of money as an herb/alchemist if you make Fire Resistance Pots and/or Nature Resistance Pots. You can farm the herbs yourself and then make the pots, and get a nice hefty profit. Also works for elixir of the mongoose and rage pots.
