Where the **** is Booty Bay?Follow

#1 Jul 30 2006 at 4:02 PM Rating: Decent
[Cadetblue][/Cadetblue] So I've reached level 150 in fishing and would like to open up to 225. I've done all my leveling on the Dark Elf pools and want to move on and maybe soon do the Sunday Extravanza. So anyone know how to get from Darkshore to Booty Bay and any advice for a soon to be level 15 priest on keeping alive along the way there and during the tournament?

Well, you have a couple of options, although I don't know of how much use they will be to you once you step outside of booty bay. At your current level, I wouldn't be surprised if mobs aggro to you from miles away.

Nonetheless, you have a few options getting there. The route I took from darkshore was to menethil, then to theramore, and swim north (staying somewhat close to the shore to avoid deep water) all the way up to Ratchet, then taking the boat to Booty Bay. You could also run through ashenvale, and through the barrens untill you once again, reach Ratchet. Although if you're on a pvp server, this will most likely be an interesting affair. Last resort that I'm aware of is to get yourself to westfall and swim south. I'll admit though, I've never tried this particular route and am unsure of it's success rate.

Also note, isn't there a level cap on professions? I'm not sure if level 15 is high enough for expert. Correct me if I'm wrong, but 20 sounds more accurate.

I don't think gathering proffessions have level caps. fishing, I'm unsure of, but I think the book just requires 'Fishing 150' or whatever, no mention of a level requirement if I recall.

Book: Expert Fishing - The Bass and You
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=16083

Requires Level 20
Requires Fishing (125)

Don't waste your time; wait another 5 levels.

Just a note: Booty bay can be gank heaven since it is a neutral zone. Also STV is a level 32-45 region. You will probably have to corpse run to booty bay if you are going much belows those levels.

Also in order to get fishing above 150 you need to be level 20 and get the book in booty bay. To get past 225 you need to be level 40 and do the quest "I got nuthin' left" (A) or "You too good" (H). Although I believe you can pick up the quests for fishing quests starting approximately at level 17, you will have a hard time completing them. The fish pools that spawn the fish you need are outside of Booty Bay. You will most likely be able to find a fishing spot in which you don't pull all the mobs in a 10 mile radius.

I would concentrate on getting to a decent level before working on the fishing quests. Good luck to you tho!

Those are not quests to get Artisan fishing quest, although they are listed as "Pre-Reqs", it's not really required. I've done without getting them before. To get 225+ fishing, you just have to find Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh and complete his quest. Don't bother finding him until you hit 225 and level 35, he won't give it any sooner.

Buy it from the AH, I found that was much easier than trying to run. I just picked one up a few days ago and it didn't cost too much over what the vendor charges.

Must be alliance, any hordie past level 10 should have no issue, as for "Ganking" in BB i am currious how that happens without the burisers going for your "Ganker" not like it is a long run from outside the city to inside. I cannot understand how anybody would recomend a player pay doubble(usualy what it goes for on my server) when a quick trip is all that is needed, Heck even alliance folks on PvP servers can get to ratchet reletivly eazy.

This is the rout I take all the time. If you can get to the lighthouse in Westfall your home free. It’s a long swim but its mob free as long as you don’t swim near the shore. Stay somewhat near the deep water and keep swimming. Just keep checking your big map to make sure your on course. You can swim right into Booty Bay and up the little ramp in the center of town.

I'll have to try that next time. I've always worried about the murlocs in the vile reef, but it sounds like they're deep enough that they won't aggro if you're close enough to the surface.

The "Ganker" can sit in the middle of the bay and attack players on the docks without retaliation from the bruisers.

Or if a rogue, kill your target quickly and vanish, or if a hunter, kill your target quickly and feign death, or if anything else kill your target quickly then jump in the water, or shoot from the tops of houses, or...

The varieties of ways in which I've gotten ganked in places that I thought should be reasonably safe is endless.

Which makes me glad I play on a Normal server instead of full out PvP >.>

I thought they fixed that in the last patch due to complaint volume.

They did, now FD gets resisted almost every time. I've never succeeded in FDing. However, you can sit off in the water and plink people. I haven't done it in BB but I have done it in ratchet lol.
