Pick two gathering professions, my favouirites are mining and skinning. Once you become high level and will get enough csh for all your needs, drop one of them and get the combination you want. In your case instead of skinning than switch to blacksmithing, so you will have mining/smithing. I personally dropped skinning and got engineering so curently I have enough cash for my level and can still make most of my cash with mining.

The bad thing about the combo is Blacksmithing. You can always find something to disenchant, but smithing needs ore (and other materials). In order to be a smith without mining, you will have to purchase all of your materials at the auction house, from other players, or have some support from an alt who can feed you the materials or the money to buy them.

Like Wolferinealex said, gathering professions are a nice safe way to prosperity. I'd add in the third gathering skill, fishing, to the mix as well.

Here is what i did: First of off i started out with Mining / Blacksmithing. Once i hit 300 blacksmithing, I changed mining to enchanting. why? because at 300 blacksmithing you make loads of money buying the materials and making the item and then selling it for more than you bought the materials for. You dont really need a gathering skill when you make money off of buying the materials now do you?

That's a better idea.

You really need an income of supplies. If you have only one character, you may want to do a gather/crafter, like Mining/BS, Mining/Engy, Tailoring/Chant, Herb/Alch, etc, like you've chosen.

If you intend to have more than one character, many perfer the pure gather approach, mentioned above. You get as many resources as you can for sale, and you can pump them to an alt that would craft as well. While you'd need to get the alt up to a level where it's high enough to get the desired cap (35, at most), you want your main character to be exclusively a gatherer. This way, the one you play the most can use the time on it, and the higher level areas on it, to gather. Plus it's more money to see the extra supplies or/and crafts!
