After coming so far in Alchemy, it seems like a shame to drop it. Besides, if you need money, go fishing! Fishing can support your other trade skills, give you the gold to purchase a horse, and enough left over to buy the best armor you can use.

Stick with alch. You can be doing transmutes soon, which will bring in 5-6g every couple of days depending on your server. It doesn't sound much, but that's 5-6g without grinding.

Plus, it's really boring having to kill low level beasts to level skinning up, though it's not as much of a problem at 24 as it is in later levels.

Fishing is not difficult to level up. You can generally go to your starting city and level it up in the waters in or near there. Once you have skilled up some you can look for pools of things like oily blackmouth, deviate fish, stonescale eels, or even floating debris (you can fish treasure from that). The fish that are reagents can be sold on AH generally for a decent profit. Good luck.

i'd personally stick with alchemy. yeah, as far as money goes, it doesnt seem to be the best. but herbalism can get you some flow, and i'd keep alchemy, cuz sometimes you have to actually play the game, and having yer own supply of pots can be really helpful. unless you have a 60 mage and druid following you around buffing you every 15 mins...

The basics are given in the Trade Skills Sticky.

Level 25 and under:
Wetlands = Firefin Snapper, Oily Blackmouth
The Barrens = Deviate Fish (Oases), Oily Blackmouth (coast)

After Level 25:
Tanaris is the easy one - you don't get attacked on the beach, or on the road to the beach.

Feralas is also easy if you are Alliance - You can fish from Feathermoon Stronghold. If you are horde, it's harder fishing there, since you have to fight the water elementals on the shore.

Azhara is the hardest of all, because you have to fight your way to the shore and survive after you get there. It's also the most lucrative, since there are also elemental pools there.
