300 Leather, 235 Herb. Which do I go with?Follow

When I first started I was skinning/leatherworking, but I switched out the leather for herb a while back. I gave it up because I was frustrated at not using anything I made (well, except armor kits). Now that both my skinning and herb are high, I can't decide which to lose for a production profession.

Should I keep skinning and get Leatherworking back?
or
Should I keep herb and start alchemy?

Any help is appreciated. I know you're all going to say, "Do what ever you like better." What I like better is having gold in my bags. Which do you think is more lucrative?

First, I would suggest to look at the market on your server and see which niches are filled, which are oversaturated, which are not represented, ect.

Then look up and see what you can make with both alch and LW. Then you will be able to look at the market and decide if you should keep the two gathering professions or if it would make more economic sense to switch one out for a craft.

As a hunter you may see a use for black dragonsale stuff(for FR), but other than that you will most likely be crafting Capes(this is the goal for all LW is to craft epic capes). As a leatherworker you can make a alt and DE any stuff you can make(I do ok nuking level 50 leather gear for essense/dust). the permenantace of your wares means few repeate customers, as well as the commanality of being a Leatherworker),(acutaly maybe tribal to make devilsaurstuff too?),i find that leatherworking makes Me Money but will never compair to stuff you can get in instances.....

Alchemy on the other hand has one moneymaker, transmutes, folks will always need them, they are like money in the bank. The real money comes form selling herbs though.

I bet you would use alchemy more than LW, for stuff like mongoose pots and Healing/mana pots.... just saying

I think, from a money making perspective, you'll do better with alchemy. That's just my experience.
