a note on fishing and cooking to level 100Follow

Hi there everyone.

I thought I would impart a little wisdom on these 2 minor professions as a few people I have spoken to don’t seem to do much about them early on or even later which means back tracking areas.

It is horde based. Actually it's Tauren specific but usable to Orc’s and Troll’s. Undead can use there local trainers then head off to TB

First visit thunder bluff to learn fishing and cooking from the trainers there. Log yourself into the inn there.
(You can learn it in Undercity/Brill for all you undead out there)
Grab your self a strong fishing pole (+5 fishing) for approx 10S from the supplier at the fishing trainer also buy the cheap rod for 23 copper and some lures if you want (I got 4), also buy the recipe for Longjaw mudsnappers (cooking 50).
The cooking supplier (next to the cooking trainer) sells the recipe for raw brilliant small fish (level 1 cooking) buy that too.

Now you can go to the pond out side the bank and fish here a bit but there seems to be a much higher percentage of mudsnappers to small fish (about 1 in 7 maybe more). But it can do no harm to get a few snappers ahead.

Now I found the thing to do is run to Orgrimar (for low levels maybe lvl10 up) kill any wolves/boars on the way for there meat. But do not bother to stray to far from the road.

Then jump on a ride to under city the head to the big lake near Brill. There’s a fishing trainer at the shore (Clyde Kellen). If you fish by him the snapper/small fish rate is reversed. Use your lures and fish away. fish your first lure until past level 10 then equip the new rod add another lure this should give you + 30 fishing so missing catches should not happen. When you reach level 70-75 retrain with Clyde Kellen the trainer next to you. You can cook up your wares in the Undercity by the bank. You could hearth back to TB after you reach cooking 50 to fish more mud snappers at a higher catch rate because the small fish and a few bits of wolf meat should take you to 50 easy and will be green by now.

I found this an easy way to fish and cook to 100 in under 2 hours!

Now I know the suppliers in Undercity and outside Brill will sell the same stuff you do not need to start at Thunder Bluff and it is not the only way to do it. It is just the easiest way I found
And don’t forget that at level 80 cooking you can learn to cook deviate delight and catch the deviate fish at the pool outside the wailing caverns. You can pick up the recipe at the auction house (I found it ranges from 3-18 gold on the 3 servers I currently use). Not only fun to eat as you polymorph into either a pirate (yarrr!!) or a ninja for an hour but they sell well at the auction house!!

As an example while putting this together I decided to train up an alt. this is what I got in 1 hour using this system:

Used:
Cheap rod
Strong rod
4 shiny baubles
The 2 recipes
7 boar meat
5 wolf meat

I caught:
50 brilliant small fish
30 Longjaw mudsnappers
15 sickly looking fish (useless)
5 old skulls
1 old tea master's skull
1 10lb mud snapper (a trophy rare catch, but not useful)

It took 1 hour and I ended with:
Fishing 93
Cooking 89

Thx for the read. I may write some more from 100 but I need to try out a few ideas first.
Also if any one knows where I can find out the level of fishing to the level of area can they let me know?

Thanks for the thread - I used it on my new alt. I hate fishing with a passion but i knew it would be best that one of my characters had it. Ya saved me some time if no one else. If i could rate up, i would.
