What level are you?
Deadmines got a lot of greens. I usually just run my hunter through it and send all the cloth and greenies to my priest. Then I run Stockade, and then SM. Decent amount of Dusts and Essences. But low level, all of them.

I suspect OP meant level 50+ greens. Just run BRD/DM/Scholo/Strat as much as possible.

For Solo Play? you are SOL, most folks cant solo BRD/ST well not affordabaly so instance is out. Up next is non eliite mobs outside istances. For this i recomend picking something that will aid you on a secondary endevor, like doing sithulus windstones, or collecting bone chips for AD, or grinding frubogs. some other ideal choices are humans for cloth or beasts(need a skinner) for skins that can be either sold or crafted in to mid 50's gear for DE(this is how i make large chunks of my money, making greens and nunking them)

Runecloth Headband is the cornerstone of my empire, Brightcloth Pants are an other one and the lowest end stuff that gets me my dust and the like is Runecloth Gloves.

Frostsaber Gloves rock becasue my rogue farms the frostsabers for echo and the frostsaber leather was wasted before i found out theese can drop 4-5 dust at a time!!! Runic Leather Headband works as well. For a while i used to nuke Wicked Leather Headband as well but since there is now a craftsmans wiert for theese, i just sell them and buy the dust or itmes to make dust from the AH.

as a lvl 57 the best place to get greens are low lvl instances like SFK, BFD, Gnome, RFK, VC, and any others. But also a good way is to just kill the elites that are in front of the instances that have those large entrances.

None of those fall in the lvl 50+ catagory, as the OP stated.

Anyways, What is your other prof?

I do a few things to get my essences etc. I used Tailoring to create greens easily (Runecloth Belt namely). Also scour the AH, many time ppl just "throw away" greens for very low amounts. I usually get some good finds. Lastly, if you are 60, run instances that are short like UD/SC Strat. The instances drop a fair amount of greens, and you are sure to get some if its a five man run. In addition you get runecloth on the run. If you are not tailor possible find one that is leveling in your guild etc and trade cloth for belts. The belts I have found give me a good ratio of eternal essence.
