for Herbalism? ok, Pick flowrs thar are green....
IMHO this shouldnt take a guide, it is common sence.
That asside there are a few trikcks, firstly is purple lotus and secondly is gromsblood.
Getting to 250 is a no brainer, just by leveling you sould see the flowers to pick to get there, by the time you are in the Arthi Higlands you should have pikced all the goldthron and whisker and fadeleafe as possible, idealy they are grey(otherwise keep pkcking for a chance at a skill add).

If you are in such a hurry to get to 300, remember the secrets herbs, gromsblood spawns in 2 places that are accasable to a mid 30's toon, firstly in ashenvale, fenfire hill or something, the place with all the infernals and the like... as well in Decolace, they spawn slow and usualy only one or 2 nodes, but keep going back. Purple lotus spawns in temples, FYI ther is one node in ashnevale!!!! ya a level 20 zone, STV has some nodes as well. If you are alliance and realy hard up, some sungrass nodes are only guarded by griphons that are pasive to alliance folks in the hinderlands.

realy gathering skill guilds seem silly to me when it is eazy, gather stuff!!!!

I leveled herbalism to 300 in 2 days
I leveled Skin+LW [also finished tribal lw quest] in 2 days.

If you guys stick around and be cool about it, I promise to post it up as soon as I can in order to help anybody. But realize this, I did this as a lv60 Resto Druid [had epic mount too] Powerleveling professions are very easy if you're willing to put the time into it. Although I don't recommend it to anybody, it is often easy for 60s to do it whenever they are bored from their previous profession [I had herb/alch300 with all recipes except 5] or you just want to level it up in order to accomplish something.

Anywayz, cya guys in couple of days hopefully with a brand new post to guide you on how to level it efficiently and fairly quickly.

Be cool about it? Well, I guess that leaves me out. Who exactly are you trying to impress, anyway? Anybody that has reached level 60 and needs a guide on how to level a profession, may want to check out a game that is less mentally challenging. I leveled flower picking to 315 and alchemy to 300 by the mid 40's just through normal game play. Not bragging, as I am sure some 12 yo will come along and say, "oh, I did that by level 35". The point is, just always have your map tracker turned on, pick everything you can, and most important, enjoy playing the game.

I think his last post went over your head a bit. Yes, by starting a profession and working on it while leveling you very easy hit 300 by 30 or 40, depending on the profession.

His point was that he was posting a guide on Powerleveling, which is very very different from slow picking while you quest. First off, its not nessecarily to know how to pick an herb or what color it is, but more over where to go when. A good powerleveling guide on Herbalism is not for people who don't grasp herbalism's concept, but rather for people who are looking to fluidly move from one area to the next based on skill level.

For instance, someone who hasn't leveled herbalism may have the gist that he/she would go based on territory level, but would they know that Teldrassil is a great place to farm peacebloom and silverleaf, but earthroot is far more plentiful in Dun Morogh? Its tricks like these that make being able to powerlevel a profession in 1-2 days possible.

To the OP: are you leveling while picking or are you 60? If leveling I would just pick anything around you, and not really worry about where and what, as long as it gets you skill ups.

uh, on the contrary, you don't seem to comprehend what I what saying. I was referring to the cavalier attitude. In the OP, their level was not stated, but I stand by my supposition, herbology is not rocket science and it is not difficult to level. However, a site you might find helpful is mapwow.com you can easily see which zones have specific herbs.

Powerleveling to 300 herbalism:
(took about a day and 1/2, with a level 60 priest Alliance)

As a 60 its fairly easy to run thru each territory to powerlevel herbalism. I try establish an easy pattern to run from territory to territory. As alliance what seems the easiest for me, and provides the best herbs:

1. Dun Morogh lvl 1-50
2. Loch Modan lvl 50-70
3. Red Ridge lvl 70-85
4. Stranglethorn Vale lvl 85-205 or 220ish
(You can try to stretch your leveling here so as not to have to go to the other continent, but with the new Ratchet FP, getting to Tanaris at 205 is a lot easier)
4. or Tanaris lvl 205-230
5. Hinterlands lvl 230-250
6. Maraudon lvl 245-260 (ghost mushrooms)
(Since its out of the way, if your only focus is to level skill, you may want to skip this. But its great for farming herbs and NR gear at the same time, and the mushrooms have always sold well in my experience. Also if you are 60, you may be able to talk some lower levels into paying you for the run. Been a good money maker for me.)
7. Felwood lvl 250/260 - 290/300
8. Winterspring lvl 290-300

I have included below a list of the herbs available and their approxiamte level range. Most times I will move on to the next herb as soon as my skill level allows, rather then waiting for a lower level to grey out, unless it sells well or is needed in one of my recipes.

Herb Levels and good collecting areas:
1-15: Peacebloom & Silverleaf
Teldrassil ~ great availability, but out of the way to get to
Dun Morogh ~ better location, easy transition to Earthroot

15-50: Earthroot
Dun Morogh ~ by far the most plentiful place I found
West Fall ~ Along the coast and mountains there is a bit of Earthroot

50-70: Mage Royal
Loch Modan ~ I found mage royal plentiful here, and its an easy transition from Dun Morogh

70-85: Briarthorn
Loch Modan ~ Decent for Briarthorn
Red Ridge ~ Another good place for Briarthorn

85-120 or 125: Stranglekelp
Wetlands ~ Off the coast it very plentiful, though there are mobs that can hinder
Stranglethorn Vale ~ Tons of coastline to farm this off of, and less mobs in water

100-150: Bruiseweed
~ Personally I skipped this, I never found it that helpful

115-150: Wild Steelbloom
Stranglethorn Vale ~ fairly plentiful here, and you can harvest while working on others

120-150: Gravemoss
Duskwood ~ plenty of graveyards to farm in here

125-150: Kingsblood
Wetlands ~ Great place especially since you can go from strangle kelp to kingsblood to liferoot here
Stranglethornale ~ decent amount here

150-160: Liferoot
Wetlands ~ Great place especially since you can go from strangle kelp to kingsblood to liferoot here
Stranglethornale ~ not too bad along the rivers and coast

160 : Fadeleaf
Stranglethorn Vale ~fairly good spawn rate near the kurzan camp

170 : Goldthorn
Stranglethorn Vale ~ good place to farm it

185- : Wintersbite
Aterac Mountains ~ This herb isn't used in much and is not found in many areas, its one you can pretty much skip since its out of the way a bit for most Farm paths

195-205: Khadgar's Whiskers
Stranglethorn Vale ~ Abundant here

205-220: Firebloom
Tanaris ~

210-220: Purple Lotus
Stranglethorn Vale ~ most likely to find this near ruins, such as near the bloodscalps
Tanaris ~ Will find hear near the ruined villages generally guarded by ogres

220-230: Arthas Tears
Felwood ~
WPL ~

230-245: Sungrass
Hinterland ~

235-245: Blindweed
Swamp of Sorrows ~

245-250: Ghost Mushrooms
Hinterland ~ In the cave
Maraudon ~ Best place to far them I have found

250-285: Gromsblood
Felwood ~

260-285: Golden Sansam
Hinterlands ~
WPL ~
EPL ~
Felwood ~

270-285: Dreamfoil
Felwood ~
WPL ~

280-300: Mountain Silversage
A lucrative and very sporadic drop in higher level areas along mountains. I have fairly good luck in Winterspring, Felwood and WPL, EPL.
This is one you just have to keep your eyes out for, I would collect this while farming you other upper end herbs.

285-300: Plaguebloom
WPL ~ Look near the fields if you are in WPL
EPL ~ Fairly good supply here
Felwood ~ Most of my plaguebloom comes from Felwood.

290-300: Icecap
Winterspring ~ by far the best place IMHO

(will try to add more later, but have to leave work for the day ; )

Maybe you should make your posts more clear as many times block text refering to multiple posts without addressing the poster can be deceiving as to what you are trying to say.

But wait, didn't you just flame the OP for not being clear enough. I love irony.

You could also pose a question if the OP didn't give you enough info. Or maybe not reply at all if you don't have advice or help in the first place. I see you finally managed to scrounge around for a tip.
