If this is the wrong forum area i apologize, but how cool/annoying would it be if blizzard allowed engineers to make modern weapons ie. sub-machine guns, tanks, etc. lol just post your thoughts :P

I'm sorry, but, no.

Blizzard is MOSTLY sticking to the games, and the most advanced firearms there were rifles used by the Dwarves. Not SubMachineguns like a Thompson or Mp5 or whatnot.

And tanks? They had the Seige weapons...though remember, those things SUCKED against infantry, and were only useful for buildings. (Which we don't really do in WoW)

Now, being able to make an Epic Mount that looked like a tank...that could be kind've interesting...but having something "modern" with machine guns, firing canon shells, treads, etc...just isn't going to work in a "Quasi-Medieval Fantasy Game."

Edit: In Alterac Valley, you do see some interesting gadgets on the Alliance half of the map. On top of Balinda's fort is a huge cannon, there's catapaults and seige tanks all over, what looks like a cannon on a tripod can be seen near Icewing Bunker as well. Although, none of this is operational, but it'd be interesting to see it in use.

I have to agree to the "Machine Gun" and "Tank" idea... this would definately unbalance the Game... However since there are "Teleporters" why not Update the game and allow fighting from a mount and saddlebags and Barding? Furthermore a Grand Idea would be a personal Anvil and or "Forge". And since I have gone a bit off my original idea and have been thinking aboutit... Let's borrow a few ideas from AD&D and import... "Bags of Holding" (I am thinking 60 slotters) and or "Advanced" magical items such as the Apparatus of Kwalish (See http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1232176) How I wish I were on the design team.... It would get really really interesting I think.

Thats a funny idea... but i really think that wud just change the game completely. A group of 60's full epiced out wud show up in Blackrock mountain to do some PvP and find a guy with machine guns and a tank waiting for them lol, wud be funny to see but shudnt happen.

Did you guys forget how unrealistic this game is? The guns they have right now don't do that much damage, so machine guns and bazookas won't be so uber in a game like this.

I guess I am confused, as it stands we already have far more fantastic tech than in the real world. This is a world who builds tiny dragons THAT FLY, Attack targets, and act independenty, in comparrison a Uzi is kind of laughable. In meny ways the World of Warcraft is far more advaced than our culture. Have you ever in real life seen a harm prevention belt? OK, how about rocket boots? or maybe a flame reflector, you have seen those right?

In a world of super fantastic Tech stuff like submachine guns becomes irrelivant, my toon has a set of bolts that calls lighting from the skys to vaporise my openents. My orc can make a seemingly never ending source of power(Gold power core) and can pull out of his pocked somehitng amazing like a compact haverster reaper. submachine guns and modern guns cece to be amazing when you live in a world where a set of blimps can take you acorss the ocean in under 3 min. The world dose have tanks, and they are made by gnomish engeneieers. I will leave it at the point that i would not want to be the hunter with a AR-15 rifle, the amo bill would be rediclous.
