Ok guys this is my problem:
I am a skinner/leatherworker. My skinning skill is 300 and my Leatherworing skill is 275 (dragonscale). I really like my Skinning but I dont like my Leatherworking. I never really use it and I think its boring. I like enchanting but then I need to start all over. Should I dropp my leatherworking for enchanting or not?

thnx alot,

If you do, I would suggest you create some items first so you can get a head start on disenchanting. I'm of the opinion that enchanting is perhaps the only profession that should be taken advantage of when your toon is higher in levels, simply because you need so many materials to start with and because its especially slow if you take it as a primary when you first start out.

I know a lot of players say that,
but what I fond when I was Mining ,Blacksmithing (and wanted to drop Blacksmithing for Enchanting) is that the mats for evin the lowest green things from Blacksmithing would sell at the AH form some times x10 as much as it costs to justs buy some other green thing at the AH.

If you do go Enchanting just sell the unused mats you had for leatherworing and place lots and lots of low bids on all the dum things that no one wants at the AH,

Two-Handed Sword: +1 int
Cloth Robe: +1 str

just 2s a pice

you're 57? You should have no prob getting materials. Do a few runs through wailing caverns or some place like shadowfang keep to PL to 50, than go from there. Like has already been said, enchanting is the one profession that only gets easier when your higher level. The only reason I have 125 on my 22 priest is because my friend runs me through instances whenever materials get low.

Why don't you roll up an alt to try enchanting with? You could make LW items that the alt could disenchant as well as sending the alt the green junk that you can't sell on the AH. That way you could give enchanting a try before you decide if you want to drop LW.

Or just keep the alt as your enchanter.

Only problem with the alt enchanter idea is when he has to go to Uldaman for training later on, but it's not a bad idea if you want a purely d/e alt.

Well i leveld enchanting 2 times on diffrent servers, since then i have moved 2 more times. having seen the ins and outs, i will stick with the real money making part of enchaning, selling to the folks who want to make sutff glow pretty. there is WAY more money in DE than in Enchanting, yes, even with all my TB enchants, i am better off to spend my time selling mats than trying to sell anything.

I personally enjoy that my level 12 toon can DE a level 58 BOE... Always a good thing.

I have no personal want to take up enchanting to actually enchant because of how expensive the spells are, and how annoying you have to be to post your enchants to sell...

Thank god there are people out there willing to do it! But its not me, and i got a nice little vendor sitting right next to the mailbox to either DE or send me the mats i need for the enchants i want!
