Hehe, you mean for cooking! Darned if know, I have never used it and i dont know anyone who ever has!! :) Just find a fire and cook with it.
You need to buy some wood and a flint&tinder (or something like that). Almost any general vendor sells them. Then use "Build Camp Fire" or whatever it is... it's a skill that comes with cooking, and is on the skill page.
I use it all the time, +4 Spirit buff to the party you know.
I do it in BG, like maybe by the flag when I'm playing D and get bord, cos I like the look of it more then eneything els, I don't use it for cooking.

I only built campfires in Ratchet with one of my alts while she was camping Deviate fish. (The fire was for cooking the other fish that I caught while pulling up the Deviates) I was never able to find a cooking fire there.
Otherwise I don't waste the two bag slots with campfire mats.

That’s my problem as well. There have been several occasions where a campfire would have been very handy, as there were no other sources of cooking fires to be found. But I don’t need a fire often enough to devote two bags slots to it. After all, that’s two less non-combat pets I could carry. *grins*
Always start a fire in the raid camp when doing Baron Geddon in Molten Core. It sounds exactly like the Bomb debuff and freaks people out.
Also we definitely need an epic grade Cozy Fire variant with at least +25 Spirit to be added to the game ;-) Raid buff, rather than party only. Petition Blizzard now!
