Agreed, when it comes to recipes, Thottbot has a much more intuitive UI. If you go the link in the OP, it shows you the created item (Baked Salmon) but no direct or obvious link to the recipe required to make Baked Salmon. That's a big flaw in the Allakhazam item database IMO.
On a similar note, has anybody written a guide (or summary sheet) showing which vendors sell recipes? I checked the guides section here, but did not see vendor locations listed. I know it is possible to look up all of the items individually in the database, but this is somewhat inefficient to do while playing.
Guess i only mock those that post to the devils page when what you are looking for is not on alla.

ever try searching by trade, the place to buy the recipes are listed, you just got to look. all that in the same amount of clicks it woudl take on Thottbot.

Thanks for the tip about searching by trade. However, I am looking for a one-pager that could be printed and kept handy at the computer. It would be perfect if Alla listed the vendor name and location with the recipes in the "By Trade" lookup. It would also be nice if the buffs were listed instead of linked via tooltip. (not complaining, just wishing)
I am not trying to be lazy, just efficient. I tend to forget where to find various recipes and would rather not have to hunt for them while playing.

Allakhazam is a great site. I’ve used it for years and I hope to continue to do so. But sometimes I have a much harder time finding things listed here than I do on thottbot. I think it could be because thottbot often has multiple links per page. For example, on the Baked Salmon page on Allakhazam all you see is the fish listed (http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=13935). But on the Baked Salmon page on thottbot you also find a link to the recipe itself (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=17360). This kind of cross linking often makes finding items much easier.

True, but that doesn't change the fact there is no intuitive link to the Baked Salmon Recipe from the Baked Salmon item information.
This is something that has always bothered me, too. If you tell me how you think the page SHOULD work, I will pass that info along to the programmers. (PM, please. I only read the non-main forums very intermittently.)
Only the exceptions can be exceptional.

I been trying out a new mod called Recipe Radar. Haven't fully tested it yet but it can show on a map where recipes vendor's are on the current zone, or you can look up all recipes for a craft.
Keeps track of all your characters skills and will inform you if one of your character will be able to use the recipe or not.
