I'm a troll rogue, just hit 220 leatherworking and I'm doing pretty well. I'm making turtlescale armor but so far they aren't selling very well... I'm now trying to get those scorpid patterns, since they just look bad-***, yeah... Soon I will be 225 leatherworking, and I'm going for elemental leatherworking (stormshroud armor w00t), and I'll be buying the reagents off the AH for the quest. So anyways, I could use a few suggestions and all..

To get your skill up, make items from orange recipes and sell them for what you can.
To make money, craft blue items, even if they don't increase your skill level.
To do both at the same time has been tricky for me.

Folks are not climbing over each other to get their hands on insaly common, horridly lack luster armor you are selling?
OK step one, do'nt even try to sell poor stuff like that; the trick is to make a alt, level them to level 5 and take up enchanting, stuff like this that has stats that are lack luster(in this case I do'nt know who would where this stuff, and if you say shaman you need your fingers smakced)are good for one thing only, Melting. Yup, just Disenchant stuff like this, you will find that you make a lot more money selling the mats you get than reposting stuff over and over just to find out nobody will pay for crappy armor.
But since you are 220, now you can make Tough Scorpid Bracers, you can farm the watertheifes in tanris for the pattern, and kill scops for the scalesm,unfortuanaly the market for theese is not much better than what you are dealing with on the trutle armor.
