But seriously, ignoring the fact that the answer would be server and ecconomy dependant, what are some good recipies to use to skill up cooking past 150 for a lvl 29 toon?

The fastest and cheapest way to level your cooking, if you fish, is to just cook the fish that you catch that give skillups. That way, you just need to get recipes that give you stat bonuses and gather the ingredients for them, rather than the ones that only regen HP without stat boosts. You can find the various recipes here.

ummm... i am still a noob to this game and im wondering...is there anyway to make a good profit using blacksmithing, i have been looking at items you can make and some things take about 12-18 arcanite bars and they are 40G ea on my server, even is there anyway to make money at 300 blacksmithing and if there is can you tell me what spesific items and explain a bit. Also if mining would help because i see that mining wouldent you just sell the materials raw insead.

At high levels, most of the crafting professions can make money. The problem is that until you get there, they tend to be money sinks. Mining will help blacksmithing, because otherwise you need to buy the majority of materials for your crafting skill. It becomes much more expensive to level a crafting skill without the associated gathering skill.

I am hearing you talk about how much fishing can make money. well i am 140+ fishing so i can always catch oily black mouths and they usally never get away. but on my server oilys go for about 1.3G for 20 and it takes me 30 mins to catch 24 oilys. but in this 30 min im also catching around 75 raw rainbow fin albacore and aroind 2 firefin if i am at meethil harbor or 6 groupers is im outside of Auberdine. that means i am only making around 1.5G every 30 min on oilys, i no there not the best to fish, but people say that they can still make around 10G per 45 min- 1hour. so can you plz give me some tips and tricks and expalin best spots to fish for oily and other fish's that make good money, becasue i must be missing soemthing. because these raw rainbow fin albacore are wasting my time.

:also i am still very NEW to WOW, so can u plz just give a quick quote and explain the lock system of WoW. ( i fished a couple locked chests and i need to no 1 or more ways to open them)

It all depends on your level. Up until Level 25 or so, Oily Blackfin, Firefin Snapper, and Deviate Fish are the way to make money from fishing. 3G/hour is a very good rate for making gold at that level, and people who don't fish consider you rich.

As far as the Rainbow Fin Albacore go, get the recipe and use them to level your cooking until the recipe turns gray. After that, stop catching them by casting without putting them into your sacks. At that point, they are just space wasters. You will always be catching fish that you don't want in your packs. The best thing to do with them is to ignore them.

When you get to around level 25, your fishing skill should be maxed (or close to it) at 225. That's your signal to head for Tanaris and start fishing for The big money fish - Stonescale Eels. Buy lures ahead of time, because there isn't any place in Tanaris to purchase them. Again, you'll find that you will have to throw away many other types of fish, but you'll be making a lot more gold.

There are two ways to open locked boxes:

1) Contact a rogue who can open it for you.
2) Contact a blacksmith who has the correct type of key.

I am a level 260 Armorsmith and I'm having trouble leveling to 300 with any kind of affordability (currently I can make a thorium belt and bracers, but mats are quite expensive.) Can you make any suggestions as to some recipes around that level for items that are less expensive to make, or any other suggestion on leveling my Armorsmithing?

Actually Onicus, the Thorium Belt and bracers are about as cheap a recipe as you can find at that level. The other choice is Imperial plate, which takes twice as much thorium as well as gemstones which are much rarer than the Un'Goro power crystals. The Imperial plate does, however, occasionally actually sell on the AH.

You've just reached the level where continuing to level your crafting profession costs a lot without much payback.

ok, it is me again i am lvl 16 dwarf and you just told me to lvl up to 25 and have max fishing and go to tanaris to fish stonescale eels. im wodering why, because a stack of 20 eels go for 3G Max on my server (alter of storms) but deviate fish go for 6G or more. so could you please tell me if EELS are still worth it at 3G for 20(like if you catch them alot faster the deviate) or should i go catch deviate fish for now on to make money. And also tell me were to fish devaite fish and how to get there if deviate is the best to fish or tell me how to get to tanaris if EELS are the best fish.

I guess I am lost, what is the pull to armorsmithing?

in May of 05, my pally leveled smithing(IMHO more difficult than enchanting)and when it came time to pick a spec, I looked at Alla as well as some other resources, I posted questions on the forums, and asked folks in game, and everybody and there brother told me armorsmithing because thats "Where the Money is" and that "It is the only one that is USEFULL". While something did not seem right about the whole thing I folowed suite and jumped in to armorsmithing.... WORST MISTAKE EVER.(From My View)

I am not implying that a weaponsmith has it eazyer leveling to 300, for all I know it is more difficult(looks about the same to me, as far as mats are concerned). the diffrences is Everybody and there borther is a freeking armorsmith, but why? I mean what is it about armorsmithing that has such a huge draw, and what inspires others to encourag others to take the armorsmithing route?

Is it that one player has greater access to more epics than if they took weaponsmithing? for greater options? Since most of the items in Armorsmithing seem to be geared for MC, and requrie mats from MC it leaves me a little lost(since we all know that bliz has added enough FR gear in the game to make some of that stuff mostly pointless. It just seems armorsmihting was a tool used to get a guild ready for the second half of MC(assuming that they were "Farming" the first half for mats). With the growth of the game and equptmennt, as well as the profliration of knowlage and where to find gear needed it seems most of the stuff is.... outdated.

That is not to say that armorsmithing is useless, actualy some of the stuff is amazing, but honestly not much more than weaponsmith stuff....

Any input?

With those prices i would definately go fish for Deviates. Eels are a bit harder to catch than Deviates. Its odd that Eels sell for so low though, maybe someone just put them up to sell them for some quick gold? And are the Deviates the only ones up? Because then someone might be trying to raise the price, but nobody might buy them. If they are selling at that price, though, definately park outside WC and fish up some easy easy money.

You need to find a niche. I'm not a blacksmith, but my wife made a lot of gold selling Moonsteel Broadswords. They sold because they are quest items and non-smiths need them.
